Consultant Request to Develop an Operations and Management Strategy / Business Plan for BaKTI

BaKTI was launched in September 2004 as the knowledge exchange unit of the multi-donor Support Office for Eastern Indonesia (SOfEI) and was administered by the World Bank through various single donor and multi-donor trust fund arrangements. On 24 August 2009, in order to strengthen local ownership and for future sustainability, BaKTI established itself as a Foundation (Yayasan Bursa Pengetahuan Kawasan Timur Indonesia or Yayasan BaKTI) under Indonesian law. The official launch of Yayasan BaKTI took place on 8 February 2010.

In its first year of operating as a Foundation, BaKTI has recruited several new staff, developed a new Standard Operating Procedures Handbook and conducted several new project activities to increase its income.


A Consultant to develop BaKTI’s Operations and Management Strategy is urgently needed to review and strengthen the existing Business Plan and to develop for BaKTI an Operations and Management Strategy which will be integrated into BaKTIs institutional strategy and mandate.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Consultant for Operations and Management Strategy will have the
following responsibilities:
1. Review and Improved(Strengthen) the existing Business PlanThe Consultant will conduct interviews with BaKTI’s team, Board of Trustee and relevant stakeholders and review all existing planning and management documents and make recommendation on how to strengthen and or improve the Business Plan.
2. Develop for BaKTI an Operations and Management Strategy In order to clarify and strengthen BaKTI strategic direction, the Consultant will develop an Operations and Management Plan Strategy based on the approved Business Plan document.

Output
1. Updated BaKTI Business Plan and how to operationalize the Business Plan
2. Operational and Management Strategy for BaKTI.

Length of Contract The Consultant for Operations and Management Strategy will be contracted as a consultant for 30 working days.

Qualifications

• Masters (S2) in Business, Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Project or Program Design and Implementation.• Experience working with International Donors including some understanding of their requirements
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience in assisting or working in Foundation type of organization.
• Previous experience in having developed Business Plans and Operations and Management Strategies for companies or Yayasan’s
• Fluent in both written and spoken English. Working knowledge of English, we can have the docs translated if need be. Best not to limit the field based onl anguage skills.
• Initiative and ability to work according to deadlines.
• Strong inter-personal skills.
