Chemonics International, a global international development consulting firm (www.chemonics.com), seeks qualified Indonesian education specialists for an anticipated USAID basic education program in Indonesia. This USAID-funded project will aim to provide technical assistance to improve education planning,management, and governance at schools and district school levels; improve the quality of teaching and learning in Indonesia’s primary schools through strengthening teacher training and improving the school learning environment; and to improve the quality and relevance of both formal and non-formal junior secondary education in Indonesia. Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge and experience in one or more of the following key areas:
Education planning, management, and governance.Past experience supporting, leading, or developing the capacity of district officials and education stakeholders at the primary and junior secondary education level in areas including:
· District education policy reform and development of new policies and regulations
· Strategic planning and financial analysis
· Human resources and asset management
· Annual planning and budgeting
· Annual education performance reporting
Curriculum and teacher training.Past experience developing relevant curriculum at the primary and/or junior secondary education level, and providing or creating teacher trainings for improved teaching methodologies, such as interactive student-centered approaches and using technology in the classroom.
Communications and outreach. Past experience developing communications tools to encourage community participation in the improvement of schools, and awareness-raising campaigns to encourage student enrollment, attendance, and completion of school through at least the junior secondary level.
Program operations.Past experience with USAID grants management, project office management, financial management, communications and outreach, training, and monitoring and evaluation.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years relevant experience
· Prior experience in one or more of the areas outlined above
· Experience working with international donors or organizations preferred
· Interest in working with a multi-cultural, international team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
· Advanced degree in a relevant field preferred
· Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Indonesian
