I. Organizational Context
The Senior Translator position is under the overall supervision of
the FAO Representative, the Chief Technical Advisor and directly reports
to the Project Manager. The position will manage and coordinate the
activities of translators, provide interpretation and translation to
support the activities of the FAO / GOI Avian Influenza Control
Programme, Indonesia


Duties and Responsibilities


II. Functions / Key Results Expected
Summary of key functions: Manage
and arrange schedules for the translation team to provide on - site
translation as requested.Prioritize and delegate the
translation of written materials to the translation team.Conduct
quarterly performance appraisals of translation team and submit reports
to the National Administrative Coordinator. Provide oral
translations as needed – trainings, workshops, meetings and field
visits.Provide written translations as needed from Bahasa
to English and vice versa. Approve ITAs and ITECs for
the translation team.Accept translation duties on
short-notice.Perform other related duties as required.

in Indonesia

Required Skills and Experience


V. Recruitment Qualifications Education:
University (S1) graduate from any related
field Experience: Minimum
of 4 years experiences in related fieldExperience on
managing a team.Professional credentials as interpreter /
translator from an accredited institution.Good writing
skills.Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa
Indonesia.Ability to work with individuals from different
cultural/national backgrounds.Good interpersonal and
communication skills. Ability to work with minimum
supervision. Language Requirements:
Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa
