POSITION VACANCY
PSYCHOSOCIAL PROGRAM CONSULTANT (1 position)

Objective 1 : Implement and supervise the emergency Mental Health Care Practices project
Activities :
- Provide input on detailed working plan, which is adapting the intervention to new field constraints;
- Assist in recruit and train the staff of local psychologists or social workers if needed
- Implement in the affected villages counselling sessions to distressed people (individual, family and group sessions) in collaboration with Puskesmas psychologists.
- Propose support groups to pregnant and lactating women on carepractices and mental health topics by using available existing support groups.
- In coordination with Puskesmas’ psychologist organise at community level psychosocial activities to reinforce care practices and to improve mother-child relationship
- In coordination with Puskesmas’s Psychologist prepare training modules and train local volunteer health workers (kaders) to propose psychosocial support to mothers and families in distress and psychosocial activities to mothers and children affected by the disaster and by acute
malnutrition
- Ensure expertise, technical support and supervision;
- Communicate and collaborate with the other departments and favour an integrated approach to recovery;
- Draft report to donors (ideally in French)

Objective 2 : Ensure the evolution of the humanitarian situation as concerns mental health and care practices

Activities :
- Collect and analyse information on mental health conditions, protection and care practices issues in the population affected by Merapi eruption in coordination with psychologist in Puskesmas;
- Propose intervention strategy if considered necessary (writing a LFA for proposal) and draft a recommendations paper at the end of his/her mission

Objective 3 : Represent the organization when liaising with the partners
Activities :
- Cooperate with other actors working in the field of mental health and care practices: cooperation agencies, NGOs, local institutions, administration, etc.

Objective 4 : Strictly respect confidentiality
Activities :
- Ensure that confidentiality of data, property of project beneficiaries and of ACF is strictly respected
- Respect confidentiality of clinical interviews apart from dealings with the psychologists/social workers in charge.

Objective 5 : Manage the team (partner implementer team)
Activities :
- Organize and conduct regular team meetings.
- Propose technical training and supervision
- Stimulate and communicate with the team members creating a participative and lively way of work

Diploma / Level of studies : DE Psychologist or psychiatrist

Required skills: Attentive – Sense of confidentiality – Clinical experience – Good communication and adaptation capacity – Good relations with people – Project management and training capacities – Experience in Emergency context - Experience in team supervision – Maturity – Good knowledge of English – Sense of organization and autonomy
