Public Health Promotion Officer

Yayasan Tirta Lestari works with disadvantaged Indonesian communities to improve water & sanitation conditions through educational activities and participatory projects. Our organization is comprised of the following four programs:
• Public Health Promotion Program
• Clean Water Program
• Improved Sanitation Program
• Solid Waste Management Program

The overall purpose of the Public Health Promoter's job is to develop community awareness and education for improving water, sanitation, and solid waste management behaviors to work towards sustainability.


Job Description:
Start date: as soon as possible
Duration: full-time, after successful completion of 6-month probation period
Base location: Jakarta Selatan (Cilandak)
Report to: Program Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:
This job entails a wide variety of tasks in three main activities; program managerial and administration, program development and community development activities. Those aspects are inclusive, but not limited to:

1. Program managerial and administration:
- Document site activities and keep e-files organized
- Prepare project logistics and keep supplies and equipment stock in order
- Complete weekly and project reports
- Submit monthly budgets and indicator reports
- Develop annual strategic plans and budgets

2. Community development:
- Provide educational support for our other programs (Clean Water, Improved Sanitation, and Solid Waste Management)
- Mobilize community members, both adults and children, to improve their hygiene conditions
- Gather and analyze community information in relation to baseline and endline survey data
- Develop appropriate PHP training materials
- Conduct appropriate participatory methods to engage community awareness and behavior change related to improving environmental & personal hygiene
- Train PHP trainers to replicate promotion for improving hygiene behaviors
- Facilitate and supervise the implementation of PHP Trainers' activities
- Monitor and evaluate results of projects and impact of program efforts
- Link with local government and institutions to strengthen long-term impacts of public health promotion achievements

3. Any other reasonable request from the Program Coordinator

Job Qualifications:
Minimum S1 degree in related fields
Previous experience in community development or environmental service work experience
Proficient in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
Commendable initiative, independence, integrity, and reliability
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet
Ability to multi-task efficiently and work collaboratively in a team
Reliable with strong integrity and initiative
Well-organized, Good communicator
Sensitive and respectful of social and cultural diversities
Have SIM A and able to drive safely
Able to be interviewed in Jakarta
