Search for Common Ground Indonesia - Senior Program Officer

SEARCH FOR COMMON GROUND INDONESIA

Search for Common Ground Indonesia, a non-profit, independent, secular, non-government organization dedicated to conflict transformation, is seeking a conflict resolution and community development professional to work as a Senior Program Officer for our women’s leadership programs.

Search for Common Ground Indonesia is a representative office of Search for Common Ground (SFCG), whose mission is to transform how individuals, organisations and governments deal with conflict - away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. SFCG’s headquarters are in Washington, DC USA and Brussels, Belgium.

POSITION: Senior Program Officer
LOCATION: Jakarta (with mandatory regional travel)
CONTRACT PERIOD: 12 Months
START DATE: March 2011
STATUS: Full Time


Key Responsibilities:
· Support program in management functions
· Lead planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report functions.
· Coordinate program meetings, program planning and develop human resource capacity.
· Monitor and evaluate training activities for current and aspiring women parliamentarians and civic leaders, at the national and regional levels.
· Maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders (partners, NGOs, media placement agencies, donors, etc.).

Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years professional experience in women’s empowerment and/or gender programming
· Program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation experience
· Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in relevant field (women, gender studies)
· Excellent gender awareness and analysis
· Training experience related to leadership and women’s empowerment
· Keen awareness of Indonesian political situation and sensitivities
· Experience in developing curriculum and content for formal/informaleducational purposes
· Experience in production of public media (radio, print, etc)
· Excellent multi-cultural communication skills; substantial NGO/INGO experience a plus
· Possesses strong initiative; able to work independently and as member of a team
· Computer skills including Word, Excel, Internet and email
· Fluent in Indonesian and English
