International Federation-Indonesia Country Office is looking for candidates to be based in Jakarta, Indonesia for the post of :

Senior Water and Sanitation (Watsan) Officer
(1 year Fixed Term contract)

Key tasks and responsibilities:


Identify priorities for watsan through trends analysis and assessments of prevailing/ frequent and potential disaster risks, vulnerabilities and capacities in order to keep the IFRC and PMI
Senior Management informed. Support PMI in preparation of their watsan program in order to inform their health strategy and policy and national annual work plans, in line with the Federation Health programme and PMI strategic Plan 2010-2014.Be accountable for oversight of the IFRC watsan budget in coordination with the health manager. Produce regular, accurate and timely narrative and financial reports related to watsan activities of the PMI for the Federation and for donors.Assist in the design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation and impact measurement systems for PMI watsan programsSupport NS in assessments and project proposal development related to Watsan and hygiene promotion activities. Assist the PMI to understand and observe the key Federation and international humanitarian guidance documents. (WatSan policy, Strategy 2010, GWSI, MDGs, SPHERE, PHAST etc.,) Participate and contribute in the development and training for PMI staff, in WatSan project planning, budgeting, reporting and proposal writing. Develop and maintain knowledge and learning management systems for watsan. This requires the review/selection of literature and development of user-friendly tools and guideline.Ensure the development of new and innovative
approaches and awareness campaigns in Water and sanitation programming, maintaining an oversight of new humanitarian programming developments. This will require engaging with other International Organizations, the United Nations, NGOs and academic institutions in related areas. Visit the project areas as and when necessary.

Qualification & Experience

Post-secondary
education in engineering (civil, public health or environmental) Or similar or related technical field3 years experience in project Management practice with large Governmental Organizations or NGOs working in disaster management in Asia Pacific3 years experience in Engineering practice, with a bias to community-related water and sanitation projectsExperience of working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent in emergency response operations is preferredExperience of planning and managing finances and budgetsGood knowledge of disasters, disaster response and preparednessStrong knowledge of Federation disaster management policies, standards and systems is preferredFACT/RDRT Member is preferred

Facilitation,
communication and co-ordination skills (in relation to mobilization of technical support to National Societies)

Basic Delegates Training Course is preferred
In good mental & physical health
Excellent computer skills (windows, spreadsheets and word processing)Valid international driving licence (manual gears) is preferred
Languages English Professional Berlitz level * and fluent in bahasa Indonesia.
Strong skills in general administration, oral and written communication
