monitoring and evaluation specialist

Chemonics International seeks a monitoring and evaluation specialist to help develop and implement performance management plans and impact evaluations. The ideal candidate possesses excellent leadership skills and knowledge of various methods to measure the results of programmatic interventions as well as a solid understanding of project planning and knowledge management principles. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

• Advise proposal and project teams on developing performance management plans and impact methodologies
• Assist with the management of the regional monitoring and evaluation advisory network
• Develop new training guidance and manage the internal resource Web site
• Prepare and deliver presentations and training for internal and external audiences
• Capture and distribute best practices in measurement from project assessments

Qualifications:

• Minimum three years of experience in monitoring and evaluation system design and assessment, strategic planning and performance management, indicator selection, quantitative and qualitative data collection, and management information systems
• Demonstrated skills in training facilitation, playing pivotal roles on teams, undertaking complex technical and new business assignments, and project management
• Knowledge of current organizational learning and impact assessment trends and resources
• Experience with a range of computer systems including GIS, Microsoft applications such as SharePoint, and two or more of the following programs: Excel, Access, SPSS, STATA, and SAS
• Knowledge of USAID and its operations
• Experience living or working in developing countries preferred
• Willingness to travel and work abroad a minimum of four weeks per year
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
• Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical skills and ability to take initiative
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Permanent U.S. work authorization required
