Programme Manager – Raising Her Voice
Jakarta, Indonesia (for Maternity Cover, with possible extension)
Gender inequality is a root contributing factor to many development challenges in Indonesia. Which is why we’ve launched a new programme that aims to give women in Aceh and Papua a much stronger voice in their communities. Now we need your help to ensure that it’s a success.
Be challenged
It’s a struggle for women to get their voice heard in Indonesia. And for women living in poverty in Papua and Aceh, it’s an even greater challenge. You’ll put the processes in place to change this. Working with women’s groups to identify their specific needs, you’ll access decision-making forums and government institutions to inform their agendas and create more opportunities for women to influence policies. You’ll be responsible for managing the budget and reporting on project outcomes to improve gender awareness and learning.
Be involved
To successfully head up a project of this scope, you’ll need to combine extensive development or project management experience with an excellent understanding of Indonesian policies and practices. The success of the project will ultimately come down to you, which is why you should also have strong programme planning, financial management and multi-tasking skills. And with a deep commitment to women’s participation in development processes and to gender equality, you’ll be eager to use your talents to make a real difference to women’s lives. Superb communication skills, both in English and Indonesian, are essential as is the willingness to travel extensively to remote locations
