We are seeking international and Afghan consultants for short-term M&E assignments (generally up to 35 days) for a five-year broad-based M&E project designed to help USAID track its work in Afghanistan and how it can be improved. The areas, listed by USAID's Strategic goals, where we are particularly seeking consultants are:
-- Peace & security – stabilization and community development, counter narcotics.
-- Governing justly & democratically – local governance training, independent media, rule of law, parliamentary strengthening, political parties, and strengthening of civil society organizations.
-- Investing in people – comprehensive capacity building program for public and private sectors, NGOs, and universities, participant training, health, and education (including girls’ education, literacy and youth).
-- Economic growth – infrastructure (especially energy and roads); small and medium enterprise development and micro-credit, trade and investment, public –private partnership, agriculture, alternative livelihoods, environment, biodiversity, and provincial and urban strategic planning.
-- Humanitarian response - managing emergencies, natural disasters, food security.
We are also looking for people with GIS experience. And people interested in being considered for potential long-term positions are also invited to send in their c.v.s.
Prior experience working in a conflict/post-conflict setting a definite plus. Most work will probably be done in Kabul, but there may be some assignments that call for other travel in-country.
Interested individuals should send their c.v.'s to me, eallan@ibtci.com, or to Gulbahar Okuyan or Bryan Shipp, e-mail addresses above. And PLEASE feel free to share this with others who may be interested.
