JAKARTA
1. Procurement Assistant
The Procurement Assistant is responsible for carrying out the procurement process for locally purchased goods in Jakarta to assist the program activities in the MC operations in Jakarta, Sumatera and Maluku, including Aceh Program (if necessary) . This includes activities such as: advising colleagues on local prices and lead times for locally purchased items, receiving Purchase Requests (electronically and written), acquiring competitive quotations from the local markets, negotiating on behalf of Mercy Corps in terms of price, quality, delivery time etc, preparation of contracts and filing.
All activities and filing must be carried out in accordance with Mercy Corps procurement and logistics policies.
Qualifications:
· This position requires at least a 3-years diploma in administration with an additional of a year experience in procurement, inventory management, and administration in general.
· Working experience in an international NGO/PVO or an international firm would be an advantage.
· Fluency in both verbal and written English communication required.
· Multi-tasking, planning, problem solving, coordination, organization, prioritization skills required.
· The ability to do information search and data collection pertaining to promising vendors.
· Demonstrated high standards of professionalism, stewardship, objectivity, discretion, sound judgment, and attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently and cooperatively with team members are required.
· Highly developed computers skills with strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and database software required.
This position will be as temporary staff for 2 months.
West Sumatera
1. Program Officer – Resilient Villages: Safe House Construction
The Program Officer is responsible for leadership and program implementation in a specific District (either Padang Pariaman or Kota Padang). The PO will be responsible for ensuring all timelines/workplans are developed with coordination of all partners and stakeholders. The PO is responsible for the day to day operations of the project within a specific district of West Sumatra (two villages). He/she will work directly with the program manager to ensure that all budgets, timelines and workplans are being developed and implemented responsibly. In addition the PO will provide oversight and direction to the M&E data collection to meet all project requirements. The PO must have excellent coordination and communication skills.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor Degree in a technical or related subject. Masters in related subject is an asset.
· Experience in/of Community Mobilization, Partner Collaboration. Preference for individuals with shelter secotr experience in West Sumatra.
· General Management skills and Project skills
· Computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel and Word)
· Able to work in English. High Standard of both reading and writing
· Preference for those with Minang Language skills
2. Water Sanitation Engineer – Mentawai
In its role as a support to the Mercy Corps Office in Mentawai, the Water and Sanitation Engineer is to verify need for water and sanitation structures, location and ensure groups of beneficiaries are involved in the installation process of the WASH structures. The main task of the Water and Sanitation Engineer is to design, budget analyze and supervise construction of WASH structures.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree of Technical is preferred. Experience in WASH program. Willingness to work in remote rural settings in Mentawai Island.Two years experience working in Microsoft Office applications and Auto Cad is required.Good written and spoken English is a plus.Independent and have strong organizational skills; demonstrated experience working with a multi-disciplinary team.
This position will be as temporary staff.
