The World Bank Group (WBG) has commenced a global search for its next Director General, Evaluation (DGE) at the level of Senior Vice President reporting to and directly responsible to the Board of Executive Directors. The Bank's Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) is recognized as a global leader in evaluating development effectiveness. The Director General leads the assessment of the relevance, efficacy and efficiency of WBG operational programs and activities. The DGE assesses whether the WBG's programs and activities are producing needed results and he or she incorporates evaluation assessments into recommendations for improving the development effectiveness of the WBG's work and its responsiveness to the needs and concerns of its member countries. The DGE also appraises operations self-evaluation and development risk management systems.
