1.        Background DAI, an international consulting firm based in the United States, is currently seeking candidates for a Climatologist position in Jakarta to support the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim dan Ketangguhan Project in Indonesia (APIK). APIK supports the Government of Indonesia to strengthen climate and disaster resilience, working in an integrated manner from the national level down to the community level. APIK helps to mainstream climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction into national and sub-national governance frameworks, build the capacity of local communities and the private sector to address climate change and weather-related natural hazards, and support the use of information for climate and disaster risk management among key stakeholders.

In December 2016, APIK has conducted Downscaling Climate Projection for Maluku Area to support vulnerability assessment activity. The projection result is being used as the basis of knowledge used to analyze the trend of spatial distribution increasing the average temperature and other parameters including rainfall trend. However, the previous development is only produce raw downscaled data, presentation material and short report. For the need for handover the product to the beneficiary (KLHK), a full report is required along with a map album and analysis of the results of the downscaling. BMKG staff is already committed to develop the Maps Album. However, they also need to understand further regarding the data processing and how to develop similar product (statistical downscaling). Therefore, we need a meteorologist who can support BMKG to develop the report and conduct several training regarding downscaling climate projection.
