The
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral, impartial and
independent humanitarian organization whose mission is to protect the lives and
dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence, and to
provide them with assistance. The ICRC also endeavors to prevent suffering by
promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian
principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin
of the Geneva Conventions and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent
Movement. It directs and coordinates the international activities by the Movement
in armed conflicts and other situations of violence.
The
ICRC Delegation in Jakarta is seeking a suitably qualified Medical Doctor with
experience in Public Health to fill the position of Health Field Officer.
Role Purposes
The
Health Field Officer will contribute to the ICRC health activities through
planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating.
Main responsibilities
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Gender Based Violence (60 %)
The
Health Field Officer will be in charge as the focal person for GBV programme
·
strengthening institutional understanding of the
issues regarding SV.
·
providing advice on health issues to delegation
management and other departments when needed..
·
strengthening PMI, advice, training, workshops.
·
advocacy and networking with high level
interlocutors such as MoH and MOWECA.
·
community response, sensitisation, training.
B. Integrated emergency response
(30 %)
·
strengthening ICRC
planning and response / providing support and advice.
·
in collaboration with co-operation colleagues strengthen
PMI.
C. Health in detention (10 %)
·
supporting activities linked to detention.
·
advising on health care standards, training
workshops.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
·
Following
up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts
and departments.
·
Collecting
and sharing information so as to improve the ICRC’s understanding of the
environment and humanitarian trends and responses.
Requirements
Background and Experience
·
Graduate in Public health (MD)
·
6 years work experience in a field of public health
programme management
·
Good understanding of the Health system in Indonesia
·
Fluent in spoken and written Indonesian and English
·
Excellent computer skills
·
Excellent analytical negotiating and interpersonal
skills
·
Confirmed capacity to assess field situation
·
Ability to adapt to stressful and changing
environments
·
Ability to collaborate and work harmoniously with
different departments
·
Ability to travel extensively in Indonesia including
to remote areas
·
Sensitive to cultural diversity
Additional experience would be of advantage
·
Previous experience working with humanitarian
organisation
·
Previous experience in project management
·
Previous experience working in the field of support to
victims of sexual violence
·
Previous experience in programmes linked to places of
detention /detainees
·
Knowledge of Human Rights law
