Veterinarian of Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) Based in Central Kalimantan
  Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Reports to the Veterinary Coordinator and Project Manager in implementing assignments and reporting activity progress;
2. Involved in preparing activity plan for medical tasks (monthly and annual) and implementing activities as planned;
3. Medical action required on all/ any animals within our rehab and rescue program;
4. Lead and conduct examinations of new animals and responsible for ensuring up to date data on these animals;
5. Coordinate animal health monitoring, progress, treatment and recovery;
6. Prepare recommendation letters, from a medical (physical and psychological) aspect for orangutans ready to be reintroduced;
7. Control, supervise, and record the use of drugs for animals as well as responsible use of anesthesia and  associated equipment;
8. Careful use and maintenance of project assets;
9. Provide guidance and advice as well as assigning job division/ tasks and responsibilities to the Paramedics;
10. Manage animal dietary requirements when nutritionist absent and directly communicate with the Head of Division of Observation and Enrichment;
11. Responsible for coordinating the correct use of disinfectant and antiseptic, in terms of concentration and usage;
12. Assist the process of implementation and interpretation of employee health checks.
Competencies and Qualification:
1. Graduated with a Bachelor degree majoring in Veterinary Medicine from reputable university;
2. Willing to be placed in Central Kalimantan;
3. Respect for animals.
4. Able to work independently and in a team.
5. Ability to remain calm under pressure, meet deadlines and apply a good work ethic.
6. Computer literate on Ms. Office and capable of operating Internet based operation;
7. Advanced written and verbal English Communication skills are encouraged;
8. Previous veterinary experience preferred.
