Chemonics International seeks a Policy, Operations, and Institutional Strengthening (POIS) Specialist

Chemonics International seeks a Policy, Operations, and Institutional
Strengthening (POIS) Specialist for the USAID-funded Indonesia Marine and
Climate Change Support (IMACS) project. This project supports the
Government of Indonesia (GOI) in improving sustained management of marine
ecosystems by providing technical support for key marine activities with
the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF), local communities, and
the private sector.



Responsibilities include:



The POIS will support development and implementation of activities under
IMACS Task 1: Institutional Development (ID) of MMAF. These activities will
provide technical assistance and training to improve MMAF’s general
operations and management, the legal and regulatory framework for marine
resources management, and outreach and extension capacity. The POIS will be
responsible for reviewing the legislative and regulatory framework to
ensure it is sufficient for MMAF to execute its mandate to protect marine
resources and fisheries; providing technical assistance to develop new or
revised policies and regulations as necessary and to improve the efficiency
of organizational operations.



Qualifications:



·         Advanced degree preferred

·         At least 7 years experience in institutional strenthening and
capacity building
·         Experience implementing institutional strengthening strategies
with local and national level counterparts

·         Proficiency speaking and writing in English
