Save the Children vacancy: Child Protection Advocacy & Research Specialist (CPAR Specialist) - based in Jakarta

Save the Children has worked in Indonesia since 1976 to promote health and nutrition, education, child protection, livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response. Save the Children has grown enormously in the country and today we operate in 13 provinces across Indonesia. Our program in Indonesia has made significant progress at the national policy level. Currently Save the Children immediately need for an experienced staff to be part of our Family Based Care program implementation team and will be based in Bandung .

The position we are looking for:

Child Protection Advocacy and Research Specialist (CPAR Specialist - Jakarta) – 1 post, based in Jakarta

The position of CP AR Specialist is to provide expertise and technical support on CP advocacy and research in the implementation CP FBC strategies in achieving paradigm shift towards family based care goals. S/He will has direct reporting to Family based Care Senior Program Manager (FBC Sr. PM).

Job Responsibilities:

1. Support and involve actively and meaningfully in ongoing legal formulation process that led by government on CP and care in national, province and district level.

2. Support and facilitate advocacy works and research that conducted by projects including the Signature program under CP FBC program.

3. Providing valuable inputs for advocacy and research works and documents that shared with us from SCI and SC members.

4. Support FBC PM in the development and implementation of strategies, operational plans and budgets for the CP FBC programs.

5. Provide CP FBC team and consultants with technical assistance and expertise on the policy formulation, research and project management of programs including ensuring full compliance with the organizational policy on child protection and care.

6. Support FBC PM with regular updated data, accurate information and analytical thinking on CP FBC conceptual framework for policy, research and program.

7. Support FBC PM in the development of report and review on the implementation of the CP FBC projects, measuring impact and identifying challenges in the implementation.

8. Manage the CP and care budget under his/her responsibility effectively and in an accountable manner and working with the finance team in preparing and submitting accurate and timely financial updates and reports.

9. Manage overall administration and financial affairs as required for the CP FBC activities including supporting to consultants works.

10. Represent FBC PM in the meetings or events with local, national and international agencies/partners for the purposes of coordination, review, research, policy formulation, training and relevant activities.

11. Responsible to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.

12. Responsible to carry out the duties in accordance with the SCI Equal Opportunities and Diversity policies and procedures.

13. Responsible to carry out the duties in accordance with SCI Health and Safety policies and procedures.

14. Lead the CP FBC in District of Sleman Province of Yogyakarta.

15. Lead and providing technical assistance for FBC project in Yogyakarta.

Requirements:
Education: Bachelors University Degree in Social work and relevant discipline, Masters degree is preferable.

Skill and Experiences:

· Having experience in Child Protection program at least for 8 years with experience working in advocacy and research.

· Fluency in written and spoken Indonesian, strong English written and spoken skills.
