AHA Centre Vacancies and Consulting Opportunities

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a
regional-intergovernmental organisation founded in 1967, to promote peace and
stability, sustain economic growth, shared prosperity and social progress. It
comprises ten countries of Southeast Asia.

The ASEAN Leaders at their 19th ASEAN Summit on 17 November 2011 officially
launched the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster
management, popularly referred to as the AHA Centre. The AHA Centre will
facilitate co-operation and coordination among ASEAN Member States, and with
relevant United Nations and international organisations in promoting regional
collaboration in disaster management.

AHA Centre, is looking for ais looking for the
best, most-talented and highly-motivatedindividuals to fill in the
following positions:

1. Programme Coordinator (re-advertised)

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of the AHA Centre, the
Programme Coordinator will manage, supervise and coordinate the overall implementation
of various activities under the Project of Establishment of a Disaster
Emergency Logistic System for ASEAN funded by Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund
(JAIF).

Minimum requirements:
* Open for ASEAN nationals and Japan nationals.
* Education : A Master Degree in Social Science, Development or a related discipline
* Knowledge in emergency response.
* Experience : At least five (5) years of experience
2. Knowledge Management Officer (re-advertised)

Under the supervision of Program Coordinator, the Knowledge Management Officer
is responsible for developing, supporting and facilitating knowledge and
information management related to implementation of the project; as well as
identify, develop and implement modules for capacity development activities.

Minimum requirements:
* Position open for Indonesian nationals or ASEAN nationals with permanent
resident status in Indonesia
* Education: Preferably Master degree in Social Science or a related
discipline
* Experience: At least 3 yrs of international exp. in organizing training

3. Technical Officer - Preparedness and Response

Carry out activities pertaining to disaster preparedness and response;
particularly in deployment of ERAT, disaster assessment, situation reports;
initial impact and needs assessment and damage reports. Assist in implementing
cooperation programmes and projects to further improve ASEAN disaster
preparedness and response

Minimum requirements:

* Indonesian national or ASEAN national with permanent resident status in
Indonesia;
* Preferably Master Degree;
* At least 3 yrs of experience in disaster and emergency response
operations in a government, international organization

4. Technical Writer for ASEAN Regional Disaster Emergency Response
Simulation Exercise (ARDEX) Guidelines (Consultant)

Among the major responsibilities of the AHA
Centre is to ensure the conduct of the ASEAN Regional Disaster Emergency
Response Simulation Exercise (ARDEX). ARDEX is a full-scale simulation exercise
that seeks to test, practice, review, and evaluate existing mechanisms in
facilitating a close and effective collaboration amongst ASEAN member countries
in relation to emergency response and disaster management. The ARDEX Guidelines
is envisioned to capture the process of conducting an ARDEX. The ARDEX
Guidelines is envisioned to serve as a reference guide for all stakeholders who
will be involved in future ARDEX. The AHA Centre, is looking for a WRITER to
produce the guidelines as above. The consultancy will require a review of past
ARDEX , writing, editing, and packaging of the ARDEX Guidelines. The Consultant
will be responsible for providing expertise to the AHA Centre in writing,
editing and packaging the ARDEX Guidelines in suitable forms that will meet the
needs within the AHA Centre and the ASEAN member countries. The Consultant will
also responsible in ensuring that the final product is error free and meet the
high quality standard of international publication. The contract period of this
consultancy service will be for 3 months (with possible extension).

Minimum requirements:
* Education: Degree in related fields such as
English, Journalism, Media and Communications;
* Excellent writing skills in English;
* Min. of 5 years in producing manuals or
guidebooks;
* Understanding of humanitarian assistance and
disaster management issues

5. Technical Writer for ASEAN Emergency Rapid Assessment Team
(ASEAN-ERAT) Manuals, and Course Management Plan (Consultant)

In order to systematise and standardise the
ASEAN-ERAT Induction Courses, AHA Centre is planning to produce the following:
1) Facilitator’s Manual, 2)
Learner’s Manual, and
3) Course Management Plan. The Facilitator’s Manual and Learner’s Manual are envisioned to standardise the delivery of ASEAN ERAT
Induction Course. The manuals shall document the various modules, delivery
methods, and presentation materials in a standard format. The Course Management
Plan should be able to standardise how the course will be conducted. The plan
shall contain templates of training schedules, invitation letters, general
instructions, ice breakers, etc. Essentially, the Course Management Plan should
be designed to help and support organizers and course administrators. AHA Centre,
is looking for a WRITER to produce the manuals and Course Management Plan
above. The Consultant will be responsible in development, drafting and
proofreading of the manuals and the Course Management Plan. The Consultant will
also responsible in ensuring that the final product is error free and meet the
high quality standard of international publication. The contract period of this
consultancy service will be for 3 months (with possible extension).

Minimum requirements:
* Education: Preferably Master Degree in related
fields of training and development;
* Excellent writing skills in English;
* Min. specific exp of 5 years in developing
training manuals
