Financial Accountant for MAMPU Program

The Empowering Indonesian Women for Poverty Reduction or Maju Perempuan Indonesia untuk Penanggulangan Kemiskinan (MAMPU) Program purpose is to build broad-based networks and inclusive coalitions led by strengthened women’s and gender-interested organisations, and parliamentarians in order to influence government policies, regulations and services, and in selected private sector arenas, to improve the access of poor women to critical services. MAMPU Program is currently seeking the following position :


Position : Financial Accountant

Location : Jakarta, MAMPU Office

Report to : Finance and Grants Manager

Duration : Long Term

Overall responsibilities :

Reporting to the Finance and Grants Manager (FGM), the Financial Accountant is reponsible to providing financial, administrative and clerical services to the MAMPU Program. This includes processing and monitoring payments and expenditures. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that municipal finances are accurate and up to date, that staff are paid in a timely and appropriate manner and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits in accordance with the procedures and guidelines laid out in the MAMPU Program Operations Manual.

Specific responsibilities :

- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services

- Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures of the MAMPU Program Operations Manual

- Prepare, verify, process invoices coding payment documents and enter all cash transaction and wire transfer payments on MYOB Accounting

- Process backup reports after data entry

- Review the balance of previous invoice for regular monthly expense

- Reconcile the petty cash and bank transaction on monthly basis

- Record all cheques and manage the weekly cheque run

- Prepare vendor cheques for mailing and list all vendor cheques in the log book

- Maintain listing of accounts receivable and payable

- Maintain the general ledger

- Maintain updated vendor files and file numbers

- Maintain, review and verify all accountable forms including Advance for Activities and Travel Advance Staff and ensuring all follow policies and procedures of the MAMPU Program Operations Manual

- Maintain a filing system for all financial documents

- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files

Qualifications :

- University Degree Accounting or Finance

- At least 3-5 years of experience in Financial Accountant

- Able to operate MYOB Accounting System

- Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced,
stressful environment.

- Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work
irregular hours.

- Able to communicate fluently and effectively in Indonesian and English.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy,
willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.

- Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team.


- Must also be able to create a supportive working relationship among
all MAMPU Partners.
