Save the Children is a leading, private child-focused non-governmental alliance of 29 member organizations that works in 120 countries throughout the world. Save the Children has worked in Indonesia since 1976 to promote health and nutrition, education, child protection, livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response. The Wrigley’s School Health, Hygiene, and Nutrition (SHHN) project contributes to improving health of school children in two districts (Kab. Kupang and Malaka) in Nusa Tenggara Timor province. This project builds on the 2011-2013 WASH in School Health and Hygiene (WISE) program and has a duration of two years from September 2013 through August 2015. In addition, this position will serve as the head of office for the Kupang office and could play a supervisory role for new projects in/near Kupang.

Now, we are looking for a position of : PROJECT OFFICER for Wrigley’s SHHN Project, to be based in Kupang & Malaka (2 positions)

The Project Officer is responsible for mobilizing and building capacity of targeted school, local government and providing technical assistance to target school to ensure high quality of health hygiene nutrition promotion. The post holder will support technical development of training material and be responsible for monitoring implementation quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Contribute in the set up and develop of program strategies and interventions for monthly, quarterly and annually, collaboration with other personnel’s in the Team.·
2. Collect, record and keep/maintain all basic education and health situation data in target areas including school action plan, access education services, access of health services, health providers services and others data relevant with the program.·
3. Carry out, organize or/ conduct the health and hygiene activities against operating plans as timely manner.·
4. Conduct school awareness/campaign/socialization meetings linkage the program with stakeholders, school, community and local government.·
5. Lead on mobilize school, communities and other stakeholders to be involved in development process and provide closely approach and communication with key stakeholders.·
6. Support Project Coordinator in providing input for training, technical assistance, and mentoring for the development of SHN project ·
7. Support in design promotional materials that includes IEC and BCC materials·
8. In close coordination with Project Coordinator, provide input and techincal assistance for the development of the partnership with government and school to ensure regular health and hygiene promotion·
9. Monitor and ensure high quality implementation of low cost hand washing station construction in target school, advocate for improve access of water in school, support referral system and support de-worming activities·
10. Participate in coordinating all M&E activities within Save the Children in close collaboration and coordination with Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist ·
11. In close coordination with Project Coordinator, ensure regular high quality monitoring and evaluation of program implementation and progress against indicators and outcomes according to monitoring and evaluation framework and reporting requirements.
12. Support Project Coordinator with relevant data and information for drafting monthly, quarterly and annual
reports as per donor and Save the Children requirements.·
13. In the absence of Project Coordinator, representing and establishing strong and effective relationships with key government and non government stakeholders at provincial and district level.·
14. Any other related duties assigned by line manager·
15. Responsible for making recommendations on programmatic and administration issues to the Project Coordinator
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor University degree in or equivalent in a relevant field (public health, education, social science)
2. At least 4 years relevant work experience·
3. Experience with or familiarity with NGO’s preferred
4. Experience in school health nutrition program, health program, education program and WASH in school program
5. Experience in school/community mobilization and advocacy
6. Knowledge and skill in methods to promote improvement in health hygiene and nutrition activities, including oral health education.
7. Ability to work with children
8. Ability to work in a multi-cultural team
9. Excellent communication skills, computer literate, & organizational skills
10. Some proficiency in English
11. Able to drive a motorcycle and licensed
12. Willingness to stay Betun, Malaka district or Kupang district in NTT province
