Description of the assignment: Formulate a Concept Note and Plan to
support sustainable coconut sector development in Sarmi Regency, Papua
Province.

days, preferably to be completed in September or the first week of October 2014

REQUIREMENTS
FOR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
I. Academic Qualifications:
Masters in sustainable development,
development, agriculture, law or similar areas.
II. Years of experience:
· At
least six years of relevant work experience in a mixture of agriculture development,
agro-industry development, rural development, law and environment/REDD+, green
commodities facility.
· Extensive
experience in working with government, development agencies, and/or
International NGOs.
· Experience
developing and managing livelihoods activities.
· Demonstrated
experience in producing high quality documents for a range of audiences.
III. Competencies:
· Applied
knowledge of and experience in local economic development approach, sustainable
livelihood, income generation strategy and access to finance.
· Applied
knowledge of and experience in agriculture and small scale agro-industry.
· Familiarity
on the coconut sector.
· Knowledge
on UNDP green commodities framework and REDD+ is an advantage.
· Understand
the national and sub-national policy on local economic development.
· Knowledge
about Indonesia’s decentralisation & Special Autonomy Policy for Papua,
gender and human rights issues in agriculture sector.
· Previous
experience working as in individual consultant and of arranging and leading
meetings with diverse stakeholders and formulating successful livelihoods
project proposals.
· Willingness
to travel to the field and work through an interpreter.
· Ability
to adequately cover the range of areas required to prepare the project
submission including but not limited to land tenure, local governance, value
chains and reduction in deforestation.
