Web
Developer for CMA Website
BACKGROUND
Citi Microentrepreneurship
Awards
Launched in 2005, the Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards (CMA) program
is an initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of
micro-entrepreneurship and microfinance in supporting financial inclusion and
economic empowerment of low-income individuals. It also aims to highlight the
important role micro-entrepreneurs play and contribute in their local
economies; catalyze innovations among microfinance institutions (MFIs) that
will lead to an increase in their outreach and their micro-entrepreneur
portfolios; and to leverage awareness of policy makers within the government of
Indonesia towards enabling a supportive environment for micro-entrepreneurs
through a conducive set of regulations.
For the 2017 Awards (awarded in 2018), there will be 9 awards, which
are divided into 5 category awards, 3 special awards, and 1 appreciation award
for the best MFI. 800 micro-entrepreneurs would be nominated by the MFIs, after
which the 800 nominees would shortlisted into 50 selected micro-entrepreneurs,
and then further selection process will be conducted to select 20 micro-entrepreneurs
and 20 of their MFI representatives that will be invited to Jakarta to attend a
business bootcamp. During the bootcamp, the participants would be judged by a
panel of juries to determine the winners of the 2017 CMA. The bootcamp would be
followed up with a half day awarding ceremony event. The winners of the 2017 Awards
will receive a cash prize, notebook computer, smartphone, and also training and
mentoring for the two months to further develop their businesses.
An integral part of the program’s activity is gaining mainstream
visibility and obtaining applicants for the competition. Based on experience
from the last year’s CMA program, the absence of a website produced a few
challenges. The presence of a website would be very beneficial in streamlining
the registration and data compiling process, and also serve as a landing page
for all of CMA’s communication activities which would increase the public’s
trust and mainstream recognition. Based on that explanation, the program team
has determined that it would be necessary to obtain the services of a Web Developer to develop an official
website for CMA.
