Child Health Consultant Situation Analysis on Child Health Advocacy - Pneumonia
Objective of the Consultancy:
Save
the Children is seeking a consultant
to conduct stakeholder outreach and gather targeted information to
complete the situational analysis in 2017. Under the guidance of Health
Advisor, this consultant will:
- Provide
technical expertise and support for the development of the situational
analysis
on child health advocacy - pneumonia. Provide information and analysis
to fill the knowledge gaps identified by the county office through
outreach to stakeholders and/or gathering subnational data and policies.
- The consultant will design, and report on stakeholder meetings/focus groups (in Sumba Barat-NTT and Lombok Timur-NTB), with government officials, CSO, care givers, and health care providers. In consultation with SC team, the consultant will recruit and invite participants, structure the meeting, and provide notes.
- The consultant will work with Ministry of Health officials to gather data from Province on child health indicators. Key indicators include: a. Vaccines: pneumococcal conjugate, rotavirus, cholera; b. Antibiotics – i. What antibiotic are countries using? ii. If Amoxicillin – what formulation (e.g., dispersible tablets?); c. ORS and zinc; d. Vitamin A; e. Pneumonia diagnostics and treatment: f. WASH: Safe Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (including handwashing), Household air pollution, haze
- Summarize findings and providing analysis in consultation with the country office.
- Maintain regular contact and liaise with advocacy, monitoring, learning and evaluation, external relations, program, and MEAL colleagues.
