THE POST: REGIONAL FUNDING COORDINATOR
Job Summary:
The
Regional Funding Coordinator reports directly to the Regional Major
Gifts Manager of Greenpeace SEA and has responsibility to coordinate
transnational funding received by GPSEA including all financial
monitoring, grant reporting and donor relationship management.
Transnational
funding is defined as a major gift, usually a foundation grant, which
is secured by one National or Regional Office (NRO) for the delivery of
work at another NRO. Under Greenpeace’s operating model these grants are
paid directly to the NRO responsible for delivering the work and are
therefore part of that NRO’s budgeting and program responsibilities.
There are global protocols in place to manage this flow of funding
within Greenpeace that are overseen by Greenpeace International (GPI).
The
Regional Funding Coordinator carries out the coordination and delivery
of transnational funding income within the region. In order to do this,
they maintain a large network of internal regional and international
Greenpeace relationships that are key to the success of transnational
fundraising including the Programme Director’s office, campaign teams,
finance teams and fundraising teams as well as key staff at both GPI and
other Greenpeace offices. The Regional Funding Coordinator will be
expected to travel extensively within the Southeast Asia region to work
in Greenpeace offices and attend donor meetings. There will also be
occasional international travel required to attend training and global
planning meetings. The post holder will be expected to develop and
maintain excellent relationships with grant funders through strong and
personal communication covering face-to-face, telephone, and written
communication.
