Indonesia is national entity (Yayasan) associated with the World
Resources Institute (WRI), a global environmental research organization
that turns big ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economic
opportunity, and human well-being. WRI work with various stakeholders in
the natural resources sector to support policy and management that are
both profitable and sustainable. WRI work with leaders in more than 50
countries for more than 30 years, with offices in Brazil, China, Europe,
India, Indonesia, Mexico, and the United States.
Launched
in early 2014, WRI Indonesia builds on WRI’s 10-year history in the
country, and strengthens our impact on the ground. In the
short-to-medium term, WRI Indonesia aims to expand its presence and
portfolio to include projects in the climate, energy, as well as city
and transportation programs.
WRI
Indonesia is seeking for a full time Communications Manager with
excellent communications, research, and writing skills to support
communications and media outreach for its newly established country
office. This person reports directly to Country Director, and will work
under coordination with the Communications Manager (or Director) at
WRI’s global office. The position will develop, support and coordinate
communication, advocacy and institutional learning throughout the
program and ensuring advocacy work is consistent, coherent, and
effective in creating a more prosperous and healthy planet. This person
works in close coordination with any Government counterparts – whether
central or regional government, partners, community and various donors
of WRI Indonesia.
Overview
The
Communications Manager will support WRI Indonesia’s office by
developing and implementing communications strategies, and managing
multiple communications channels (such as website, social media, blog,
publications, media relations, and events) including the development and
maintenance of WRI Indonesia’s website and other WRI Indonesia
related/facilitated website such as Peatland Map Prize Competition. The
position will also develop, support and coordinate communication,
advocacy and institutional learning throughout the program and ensuring
advocacy work is consistent, coherent, and effective in creating a more
prosperous and healthy planet. The Communications Manager will
proactively collaborate with the global team and donors on related work.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, sharp
analytical thinking, and be able to demonstrate their ability to
effectively engage with various national, sub-national and international
stakeholders.
