YOUTH COUNTRY COORDINATOR (YCC) for
the
GET UP SPEAK OUT (GUSO) Programme
(Jakarta Based,
30 hours/month)
The Youth Country Coordinator (YCC) is a young person (18-25
years) who will be the focal point for young staff/volunteers in the GUSO
programme, and together with the National Programme Coordinator (NPC), a
champion for the meaningful involvement and participation (MYP) of young people
in the GUSO programme. The YCC will be the central advisory partner
contributing to linking/learning by sharing lessons learned and experiences
from Aliansi Satu Visi members implementing the GUSO programme, other GUSO
countries and documents.
OBJECTIVE
1. To encourage the active and meaningful youth
participation of ASV members implementing the GUSO programme in all aspects of
the programme.
2. To ensure on-going updates on the programme for
the youth staff/volunteers as well as ASV members implementing the GUSO
programme on issues related to effective youth participation
3. To ensure timely preparation of youth input in the
GUSO Working Group meetings and reports; and ensure that documentation meets
meaningful youth participation standards and the donor requirements for
approval and progression of the initiative.
4. To support the NPC to coordinate the preparation
of programme related publications to promote awareness and lesson-learning on
youth participation
5. To advise the NPC and the GUSO Working Group on
how to effectively implement youth participation at all stages of the programme
cycle and implementation of the programme.
6. Together with the ASV members implementing the
GUSO programme provide technical support and guidance to young staff/volunteers
in the ASV members implementing the GUSO programme to be able to participate
effectively in the programme.
7. To ensure effective partnerships with relevant
youth (serving) organisations in the country programme.
8. To keep updated on relevant information in the
field of youth sexual and reproductive health and rights and share among the ASV
members.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To coordinate and facilitate the content and
logistics for capacity building meetings and consultations planned for young
people and ASV members implementing the GUSO programme around MYP. , i.e. joint
youth activities;
2. Provide ASV members implementing the GUSO
programme with full information on youth participation initiatives within the
GUSO programme and solicit their proactive support in engaging young
staff/volunteers;
3. To analyse materials and prepare summaries of
articles on MYP, for dissemination among the ASV members implementing the GUSO
programme, both adults and young staff/volunteers;
4. To support NPC to develop and incorporate the
policy on protection of young people in all programme activities;
5. To keep the NPC and ASV members implementing the
GUSO programme informed of progress and developments of youth participation in
the the GUSO programme;
6. To participate in internal meetings, workshops
and working groups as agreed with the NPC;
7. To undertake any other reasonable duties as may
be requested from time to time;
8. To support in planning, monitoring, evaluation
and learning activities and operational research.
ACCOUNTABILITY
1. The YCC is contracted by a host organisation,
which is one of the alliance members in Indonesia, on behalf of the ASV;
2. An YCC has a part-time position with
estimated working hours of 30 hours/month;
3. An YCC cannot have another position/job at one of the ASV
members implementing the GUSO programme;
4. The YCC is impartial and works in a youth-adult
partnership with the NPC. The YCC is hierarchically accountable to the NPC. For
daily management issues the YCC can turn to the NPC or the line manager of the
host organisation.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
1. Age 18-25;
2. Experienced in working on projects / activities
related to adolescent HKSR, including youth participation;
3. Experienced in working with youth-led
initiatives or networks (either as members or facilitators/leaders);
4. Experienced in documenting material or reports;
5. Experienced with social media;
6. Experienced in managing volunteers.
7. Good management, analytical, reporting,
communication, administrative, organizational, computer, and English
proficiency skills;
8. Commitment to HKSR issues and meaningful youth
participation;
9. Have an open mindset;
10. Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
11. Able to work independently, flexibly, and work
in teams;
12. Willing to travel.
