GLOBAL GREEN GROWTH INSTITUTE (GGGI) INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The
Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental
organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth
known as "green growth", which targets key aspects of economic
performance such a poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion,
and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with countries around the
world, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green
growth policies that can impact the lives of millions. The organization
partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies,
and private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are
more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less
carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change.
Under
supervision of the Senior Associate forest and Land Use, the Forest and
Land Use Intern will provide assistance in all of the event
preparation, event implementation including writing minutes and
translation and help consultants with their administration. The intern
is also encouraged to learn about the NDCs and emission reduction in the
forestry sector of Indonesia to provide assistance related to the
content of the work.

participate in workshops and meetings, and contribute to analytical
work as well as innovative rethinking on sustainable green growth.
Interns will be selected based on merit and cannot be children or
siblings of current GGGI staff members.
Can you be a GGGI intern?
• Are you enrolled in a Master's or in a Ph.D. program, or in the final year of a Bachelor’s program?
• Have you completed Bachelor’s, Masters or PHD Degree in last 12 months?
• Are you between a first degree and graduate school (gap year)?
• Do you have excellent command of English?
The
internship program lasts for at least three months and can be as long
as six months. Once selected, interns must begin your internship either
prior to or within 12 months of graduation.
- Cost: GGGI interns are paid per month. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
- Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.
- Medical insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI.
- Confidentiality: Interns must be discreet and keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.
- Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.
We
are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the Global
Green Growth Institute - Indonesia that will provide assistance in all
of the event preparation, event implementation including writing minutes
and translation and help consultants with their administration. The
intern is also encouraged to learn about the NDCs and emission reduction
in the forestry sector of Indonesia to provide assistance related to
the content of the work. The assignment will include the followings but
not limited to:
- Support program activities with preparation for, or processing of, meetings or workshops.
- Support Forest and Land Use Team and consultant on the procedures, policies and tools of travel, workshops and other administrative arrangements
- Support for the preparation of the events and meetings of the forest and land use activities including confirming the participants, place, Terms of References and agenda preparation
- Provide assistance during events and meetings of the forest and land use activities including note taking, documentation, attendance list and reimbursement.
- Carry out any other activities as may be directed by the supervisor.
- Provides general support to the program activities where necessary.
- Any other support as needed in support of the forest and land use team.
Qualification
- A Bachelor degree in forestry, environmental management or natural resource management, sustainable development or other related topics.
- 1-2 year of work experience would be an asset.
- Strong oral and written English, and fluency in Indonesian is essential.
- A pro-active attitude, with an ability to innovate in finding solutions.
- Highly organized with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with multi-cultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Good level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong oral and written English, and fluency in Indonesian is essential.
- Experience / knowledge of forestry and climate change issues (land based mitigation) is an asset.
Only
people who are currently enrolled in a Master's or in a Ph.D. program,
or have completed their Bachelor's, Masters or PHD Degree in last 12
months can be considered for the position.
Selection Process

- GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work.
