Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik seeks Consultant for SOP Development and Task Force Establishment



Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik partner of Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better.  We've begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia namely Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik.  To this end, Yayasan has been designated as a “Prospect Member of Save the Children” which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Currently Save the Children’s programs in Indonesia is implemented by Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik. We work in eleven provinces, have staff of approximately 400+ local professionals, and programming in Child Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Humanitarian Response. We are currently seeking to fill the following position:

Consultant for SOP developMENT and TASK FORCE ESTABLISHMENT

Background

The Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik Partner of Save the Children is implementing the Child Health Advocacy on Pneumonia funded by GATES Foundation in Bandung and Sumba Barat Districts as well as advocacy in national level,  for the three years started in 2018 until 2020.  This project is designed to support the Government of Indonesia to address the challenges barrier to decrease morbidity and mortality of the under-5 years old children due to pneumonia.  As known, childhood pneumonia is the 2nd largest cause of the child mortality in Indonesia and, sadly, the victims mostly from underprivileged families.

Childhood pneumonia is ancient disease which can be prevented if diagnosed and treated in the early stage.  Therefore, it is very important to educate parents/caregivers as well as public to understand early signs of the pneumonia in children and to enable them to take the children to the health facility.  On the other side, we need to strengthen the health workers to implement Integrated Management of the Childhood Illness (IMCI) at the puskesmas level, especially for the pneumonia.

Objectives

  1. To asisst Project Team in drafting SOP for the implementation of the IMCI together with the DHO and the puskesmas;
  2. To asisst Project Team in building Pneumonia Task Force which consists of multi-local goverment institutions (DHO, Bappeda, Dinas PUPR, PMD, P3A, and other relevant ones) which legalized by the bupati (head of district) through official letter (Surat Keputusan Bupati).
  3. To provide technical assistant (TA) to the puskesmas sites (there are under 10 puskesmas in Bandung district) on the implementation of the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI), especially related to childhood pneumonia.
