Save the Children in
Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build a national
organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice
for children in Indonesia. To this
end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a “Prospect Member”. As
‘Prospect Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way
of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and
localizing our voice for children in strategic middle
income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to
start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially
sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve
developing a strong local governance structure and building
key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil
society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia
on a pathway to full membership. We are currently seeking to fill the
following position:
DRR MANAGER
1 (one) position, based in Bandung
ROLE PURPOSE:
The DRR Manager will lead all activities under the
‘Google for Disaster Resilient Cities and
Communities’ at provincial level. The project aims to improve national
and local disaster preparedness by: supporting increased national awareness and planning on preparedness, ensuring
primary school children in specific high risk
provinces are safer and better prepared for disasters and encouraging
children and youth participation in government planning to increase
public investment and reduce the risks faced by
children.
Programme
implementation duties include ensuring all program activities are
implemented according to plan and at a high-level of quality; all
reporting and planning
is completed in a timely manner and at a high-quality; all
communications are completed in a timely and accurate manner; coordinate
well with key external stakeholders; all child safeguarding controls
are enforced; and financial and administrative management
adheres to Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik (YSTC) and donors policies,
regulations, and good practices. The Project Manager will also ensure
advocacy with key government stakeholders to achieve positive changes
using evidence from our program work as the basis.
S/he will represent YSTC in provincial level; and support program
development and emergency preparedness and response. The position will
require travel to field locations and support for hosting donor visits.
The
post holder shares the accountability to build the most positive and
affirming work environment possible and ensure that the management,
staffing and culture
of the organization are suitably aligned with the mission, evolving
goals and strategic ambitions aligned with the Membership Accountability
Framework.
The post holder will also contribute to the standards as noted in the Prospect Member Framework as follows:
- Support on-going development and emergency programming of the existing portfolio in Indonesia with focus on education programs in order to achieve ambitious breakthroughs for children,
- Ensuring continued development & management of a high performing program team.
- Contributing to the development of strong partnerships.
- Contribute to effective advocacy for children and collaborate with other departments to implement advocacy initiatives that support the theory of change.
- Helping to build a strong brand for the organization by ensuring compliance with global brand procedures and awareness of brand in local market.
- Contribute to ensuring financial sustainability and growth orientation in the funding portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS AND
EXPERIENCE
·
At
least Bachelor University Degree or master preferable in a Disaster
Risk Management or Environmental Sciences or Social Development or
equivalent in a relevant field
·
At least of 5 years’ Disaster Risk Reduction experiences, safe school and Child Protection
·
Have understanding in DRR and familiarization with Climate Change Adaptation
·
Experience of managing and developing a team and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
·
An
understanding of children’s issues in Indonesia. This could include
deep knowledge in child protection, health and nutrition, livelihoods
and education.
·
Experience working with an international NGO or similar organization.
·
Solid project management skills with a proven history of delivering results.
·
Previous experience of managing and developing a team and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
·
Substantial experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control
·
Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically.
·
Excellent
interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Fluency in written
and spoken Indonesian, strong English written and spoken skills.
·
Ability
and willingness to be stationed in South Jakarta with frequent travel
to field locations and potential travel to other regions.
·
Commitment to and understanding of Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
·
Demonstrated ability to write high quality reports and other project documents in Indonesian and English
