Yayasan Plan International
Indonesia (YPII) is a humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights
and equality for girls. It is currently implementing its country strategic 4 (CS4) covering a fiscal year of
2018 to 2022 with the main objective of “identifying
and facilitating the removal of obstacles that prevent children from enjoying
their rights and participating fully in Indonesian society”. Under this objective,
YPII will address five key child and youth rights issues
and four of the issues affect girls and young women in particular. The issues
will be addressed through some global outcome areas including LEARN, LEAD, DECIDE, and THRIVE. LEARN Programs focus on providing
equal opportunities for girls
and young women to secure decent jobs. The programs are designed to
support the overall objectives of Yayasan Plan
International Indonesia to target
around 1,000,000 marginalized girls and young women who will be reached out
from about 1,000 villages in two Eastern Indonesia and five Javanese Provinces. Of the total target of YPII, LEARN will contribute to reaching out around 63,000 youth (70% girls; 44,100 marginalized
girls and young women), and 22,500 families in 200 villages. To bring better economic empowerment to its
beneficiaries, through its Youth Economic
Empowerment (YEE) initiatives, LEARN program also targets 200 private
companies (Including 50 private Technical Vocational Education Training
providers - TVETs, Micro Finance Institutions - MFIs, PNGOs)
in 10 districts from 7
