Summary

Water.orghas been growing steadily in Indonesia over the past few years and is nowseeking to dramatically accelerate growth. We are therefore seeking a highlyskilled and highly motivated Senior Partnership Manager to support our growingportfolio of Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) partnerships in Indonesia.  This full-time position will be based inJakarta with regular travel throughout Indonesia.
The SeniorPartnership Manager is responsible for managing and supporting Water.orgpartnerships and partner institutions in the launch and implementation offinancial products to improve people’s access to water and sanitation. TheSenior Partnership Manager must be able to lead and manage Partnership Managersand partners in areas including partnership design and implementation, waterand sanitation lending, and/or operations. In addition, the Senior Partnership Manager will assist the developmentand establishment of new procedures, systems and guidelines. He/she will alsowork closely with other members of the Water.org Global Impact teaminternationally.  It is expected that theSenior Partnership Manager’s duties will focus on managing Water.org’s partnershipswith microfinance institutions of all types.

Key Responsibilities

PartnershipManagement and Partner Capacity Building – 45%

Manage and oversee Water.org existingpartnerships, working with both Indonesia-based and international staff.  Key tasks include, but are not limited to:

Ÿ  Manage and superviseimplementation of partnerships in collaboration with financial institutions andother partners, including delivery of financing and technical assistance.

•      Ensurestrong operational and financial performance of partnerships through partnersupport, monitoring, and technical assistance to address implementationchallenges.

•       Support the development and delivery of trainingmodules for partner staff and households on topics such as WSS principles,health and hygiene.

•       Develop and manage contracts with and providesupport to consultants hired to supplement Water.org’s partnerships.

•       Develop services and engagement opportunities forpartners that have transitioned from active support by Water.org to independentmanagement of their WSS lending.

•       Identify ways to develop and strengthenWater.org technical assistance services.



·       Manage and provide capacity building toWater.org staff responsible for partnership management.

•       Ensure effective and on-time performance byPartnership Managers working within the purview of the Senior PartnershipManager.

•       Identify professional development needs forPartnership Managers and conduct internal/external trainings



·       Maintain regular and timely communication withWater.org global personnel.
·       Coordinate with local government, NGOs, donors,community groups, & other stakeholders.

New Partnership Identification,Design and Development – 25%

Support initiation of new Water.orgpartnerships. Key tasks include but are not limited to:

·       Develop and implement a strategy for scalingWater.org’s adoption services, a new program model aimed at partnerships withsector associations or apex organizations.

·       Support identification and certification of newpartners, including financial and non-financial institutions and organizationsin the microfinance sector.

·       Evaluate new partnership proposals forprospective partner organizations.

·       Work with partners to determine appropriateprogram targets and deliverables.

·       Guide design of partnership work plans andbudgets, ensuring that they are allocating adequate resources and personnel forsuccessful completion of deliverables.

·       Contribute to development of new partnershipmodels and innovative approaches to building partner capacity. Supportdevelopment of new WSS loan products, such as loans to urban and rural waterutilities.
·       Assist partners in designing appropriateinternal monitoring and evaluation protocols.

PartnershipMonitoring and Data Management – 15%

Review data and partner reportingto ensure that each partnership is accountable and meeting expectedtargets.  Key tasks include but are notlimited to:

·       Conduct andsupervise regular communication with partners; track and report information related to program implementation includingpartner activities, expenditures, and lending.

·       Beaccountable for target achievement and financial management of donor-sponsoredinitiatives, provide donor relationship support, and manage donor-relatedreporting.

·       Ensurepartner submission of high-quality program reporting and effective transfer ofinformation to Water.org databases, colleagues (in-country and international),and donors.

·       Maintainregular contact with Water.org personnel, both in-country and international, toevaluate partnerships and report issues affecting achievement of partnershipdeliverables.



Organizational Contribution andSupervision – 15%

·       Participatein cross-functional working groups in support of organizational goals.

·       Assist in thedevelopment of new tools, processes and/or procedures.

·       Serve as aknowledge resource for Water.org and represent Water.org at sector events andin written publications to advance the organization’s mission and vision.

·       In supportof Water.org’s goal to strengthen our performance and talent managementpractices as measured through our OHI Talent Development score, the Senior PartnershipManager will attend HR-provided career conversation and coaching training, aswell as complete annual career conversations for her/his direct reports withinthe deadlines specified by Water.org.

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’sDegree in relatedfield required.  Master’s degree preferred.

·       At leasttenyears of relevant experiencewith a financial or microfinance institution, water and sanitationorganization, international development organization, or related business,agency or institution.

·       At least sixyears of relevant experience leading and managing a dedicated team.

·      
Demonstratedunderstanding of and familiarity with SME lending and/or microfinance,financial services, cooperative development, lending methodologies and sectortrends.

·       Experiencewith microfinance operations and loan product development will be prioritized.

·       Familiaritywith basic concepts in water supply, sanitation and hygiene.

·       Proventrack record of proactively identifyingchallenges and developing innovative solutions.
·       Strongdesire to contribute to increased access to water and sanitation for low-incomehouseholds.

Salary & Benefits
This is two-year contractposition, with a possibility of extension for the right candidate. This positionoffers competitive full-timebenefits, including medical/dental insurance. Salary is competitive with similar positions in theinternational development sectorand is based oneducation and experience.
