World Bank - Short Term Consultant

Establishedin 1944, the WBG is one of the world’s largest sources of funding and knowledgefor development solutions. In fiscal year 2018, the WBG committed $67 billionin loans, grants, equity investments and guarantees to its members and privatebusinesses, of which $24 billion was concessional finance to its poorestmembers. It is governed by 188-member countries and delivers services out of120 offices with nearly 15,000 staff located globally.


TheWBG consists of five specialized institutions: The International Bank forReconstruction and Development (IBRD), the International DevelopmentAssociation (IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), theMultilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and the International Centrefor the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). The World Bank is organizedinto six client-facing Regional Vice-Presidencies, several corporate functionsand thirteen Global Practices to bring best-in-class knowledge and solutions toregional and country clients.

TheEnvironment, Natural Resources, & Blue Economy (ENB) Global Practice hasbeen set-up to deliver on the opportunities, benefits and outcomes offered byenhanced management of the environment, natural resources, and oceans. The ENBGP has close to 300 operations under management, representing close to $7billion, and a growing pipeline of new investments under active development.The practice consists of some 300 staff across the world plus numerous other staffsin other Practices and Cross Cutting SAs that are professionally associatedwith it..  ENB GP also manages the environmental risk aspects of about 2000projects in the World Bank’s global portfolio.  About 150 staff workspecifically on environmental risk management safeguards.

The World Bank Group seeks to support Indonesia’ssustainable management of priority rural landscapes by fostering an integratedapproach to land, water, and forest asset management. Acknowledging theinter-linkages among these assets is critical to ensuring their sustainablefuture. In doing the activities, the Environment, Natural Resource and BlueEconomy Global Practice (ENB) needs consultant to support the implementation ofsub-projects in community, local government, as well as central governmentlevels to assist with the development and implementation of its operations.

The program is currently seeking for a Short-TermConsultant (STC), based in the Jakarta Office, that will support team andoperations under Indonesia Sustainable Landscape Management Program (ISLMP).

Duties and Responsibilities

Scope of work/list of deliverables include, but notlimited to:
1.      Assist in reviewing projectsprocurement plans, annual work plans, progress reports, and provide comments totask team.2.      Assist in mission planningincluding drafting mission announcement letter, mission agenda, and aidememoire.3.      Participate in meetings andevents as requested and provide minutes of the meeting along with any materialsshared during the meetings/events.4.      Liaise with the clients asneeded and guided by supervisor.5.     Assist the management of outreach and publication of projects under theteam.6.      Assist in monitoringpipeline and portfolio such as milestone, disbursement, and key actions agreedduring missions.   7.      Assist in securing andmanaging documentation in shared folders (One drive) in accordance with theprojects in close coordination with ACS.8.      Any other relevant duties assignedby the supervisor, as required.
Qualifications
·       A master’s degreein environmental science, forestry, natural resources management, climatechange, or other relevant fields.·       At least twoyears of working experience, preferably in international organization and inenvironment and natural resources management related issues..·       Experienced inproject management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation is an asset.·       Willingness towork overtime when required.·       Proficiency inusing advanced functions of standard computer packages.·       Good knowledge ofand some experience in specialized administrative/operational support functions(e.g., database management, knowledge management, task         management, majorevent/course planning, etc.).·      

Goodorganizational skills and ability to prioritize and deliver assignments in atimely manner often under time pressures.·       Excellentcommunication skills.·       Stronginterpersonal skills and commitment to work in a team-oriented, multi-cultural environment.·       Ability to adaptto dynamic changes.·       Fluent in Englishand Bahasa Indonesia (speaking and writing).·       Excellent writingskills.
 Expected duration of contract

 The selected candidateis expected to work with the team maximum of 150 days/year (World Bank’s fiscalyear).
