Head of Macro-Financial-Green Energy Policy  

The role

The Head of Macro-Financial Policy will lead a team providing analytic support to Prospera’s Practice Areas, responding to new and emerging policy issues, and addressing macroeconomic and financial sector, and climate and energy policy issues facing the government of Indonesia. The Head of Macro-Financial Policy will provide strategic direction, identify opportunities and manage the delivery of a complex work agenda. This includes detailed economic analysis, cross cutting activities in infrastructure and private sector development, inclusive economic growth , climate and energy policy and other economic policy developments. The Head of Macro-Financial Policy will have extensive experience advising senior officials in economic and financial sector policy, with a capacity to manage a team. An ability to build relationships with senior members of government, effectively communicate to a range of audiences, and provide leadership and project management skills is critical.

About you (Selection Criteria)

It is expected that the position will meet the following qualifications:

·         Advanced qualifications in economics, finance, and public policy or related areas.

·         At least 10+ years’ experience in, and significant technical knowledge of, economic and financial sector policy, including in developing country contexts.

·         Demonstrated capacity to deliver economic policy advice across a range of macro and microeconomic policy areas, with experience in Indonesia desirable.

·         Strong project management skills and experience in the practical planning, budgeting and executing of complex policy change activities.

·         Performance and human resources management within a team with diverse skills and experience levels.

·         Strong relationship management skills, particularly in dealing with senior government officials, and ability to operate effectively and sensitively in a cross-cultural environment.

·         High-level communication skills (verbal, written and presentational) in English, with language skills in Bahasa Indonesia desirable but not essential.

Prospera is a partnership facility between the Government of Australia (through Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and the Government of Indonesia. It aims to foster strong, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth in Indonesia. Commencing from 1 March 2018, Prospera is a planned five-year investment.

Remuneration

The remuneration will be set according to Dfat Remuneration Framework Group D, Job Level 4. This position open for National/International. The remuneration level at which the position is engaged will be based on the successful candidates’ relevant skills and experience. This is a long-term position, based in Jakarta.
