Adolescents in Indonesia suffer from the triple burden of malnutrition that consists of Nutrition International (NI) has been supporting the Ministry of Health (MoH), Government of Indonesia in implementing Weekly Iron and Folic Acid (WIFA) supplementation and adolescent nutrition interventions for school-going adolescent girls since 2015. The WIFAS program in Indonesia is a multisectoral intervention through the School Health Program (UKS/M), involving four ministries: Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs. NI is now continuing its support to scale up and to replicate the key WIFAS program elements in Banten and West Java Provinces.
NI supports the implementation and strengthening of the WIFAS program at the province and district level through placement of Provincial and District Consultant in respective provinces. The consultants work with multisectoral stakeholders (i.e., Offices of Health, Education, Religious Affairs, and Local Secretariat) at province and district levels to catalyze improvement of program implementation and increase WIFAS coverage and adherence from school to province levels. In May to June 2023, NI will proceed for recruitment of Consultant to support the WIFAS program implementation in Banten. To continue provision the program technical assistance to PHO, DHO and Puskesmas and school including to monitor and supervise the implementation in Banten, NI will hire an agency to support WIFAS Program Implementation in Banten province for 2 months period from May-June 2023.
