Job Vacancy: Child Welfare & Protection (CWP) Officer based in Palu

Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia (YRII) is an independent humanitarian and development organization. YRII, previously Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia as globally with Islamic Relief Worldwide we have been fighting poverty and injustice for 30 years, in a world where more than three billion people still live in poverty

Country Purpose:

Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia has been operating since 2003, and officially became the Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia in January 2022. The objective of the Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia program is to contribute to the social welfare of the Indonesian people and to alleviate suffering. The main sector for the programme include:

•        Water and Sanitation

•        Sustainable livelihood

•        Education

•        Child Welfare

•        Shelter

•        Disaster Risk Reduction

•        Climate Change

The geographical area: NTB, Aceh, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi and Jakarta Province and will be expanded to all regions of Indonesia according to the development of the organization. The implementation of the program is carried out directly by YRII or through cooperation partners.

Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia is looking to recruit Child Welfare and Protection Officer based in Palu – Central Sulawesi.

Reporting Line:

Post holder would directly report to Child Welfare and Protection Coordinator

Overall Responsibility:

Child Welfare and Protection Officer reports to Child Welfare Coordinator reaches out to the neediest children families within the designated program area and implements different child welfare activities building on IR core child-focused activity of one-to-one orphan sponsorship in an integrated way that leads to sustainable community development

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Assists in developing and running of Sponsorship Program Cooperation Islamic Relief one to one orphan sponsorship program as per its implementation strategy set out in the Orphan Policy and Procedure

·       Prepares the community situational report and the individual situational reports of the needy children of the targeted community focusing on their health, education, shelter, emotional, and other basic needs

·       Select children from the poorest families and upload their bio-data for one to one sponsorship

·       Form cooperatives of the guardians of the orphan families and attend their meetings. Document and report the issues discussed in the meetings to your line manager.

·       Periodically monitor the progress achieved against the community and children’s individual profiles. Do the analysis of the old and new reports and take necessary actions (continuation of sponsorship or cancelation)

 

Skills:

•       Demonstrated ability to conduct/oversee evaluations, reviews, assessments, etc.

•       Experience in the evaluation of development projects using a range of qualitative and

quantitative methods.

•       Expertise in Cash and Voucher Assistance and Community Engagement is preferred

•       Able to write report quality reports supported by data and evidence

•       Project management skill is required 

•       Flexible

•       Knowledge and practical understanding of and ability to work within both relief and

development NGO contexts

 

Requirements:

         Relevant education background in social development, management

         Three years’ minimum experience in relevant field.

         Capacity to work under pressure

         Computer literate with the fluency of using Microsoft Word, Excel, survey tools
