Yayasan Mahajana Sosial Fondasi Indonesia (Yayasan Mahajana) is a non-profit organization established in 2021 with the mandate to extend essential medical assistance to people affected by disasters or conflicts, exclusion from healthcare, and pandemics. We are driven by the commitment to ensure that those who find themselves impacted by emergencies receive the essential medical assistance they require. 

An essential part of the Yayasan’s operational approach lies in its collaborative partnerships with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Spain, renowned globally for its humanitarian medical initiatives. This partnership reflects the Yayasan’s commitment to fostering knowledge exchange and mutual learning, aimed at enhancing emergency response capabilities. By collaborating closely with MSF, the Yayasan hopes to gain knowledge and techniques from MSF that will improve its capacity to identify the most urgent medical needs of communities dealing with difficult circumstances. 

Yayasan Mahajana is dedicated to playing a proactive role in disaster response efforts throughout Indonesia. Our Yayasan firmly upholds the belief that everyone deserves unfettered access to high-quality healthcare, irrespective of their situation.  

 

REPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN FUNCTIONS 

 

·        To ensure a smooth operational logistics set up, implementation and monitoring.

·        To guarantee the respect of the general humanitarian policy of Yayasan Mahajana

·        To ensure the highest possible quality standard of the intervention in accordance to the medical, logistic, financial, human resource and communication policies of Yayasan Mahajana

·        To propose logistical deployment plan for the intervention within the scope of the organisation’s capacity and the context/ regulation

·        To support the Director of Yayasan Mahajana in the elaboration and implementation of the security guidelines in the area/ location of activity

·        To guarantee appropriate working/living conditions are implemented to ensure the physical and mental wellbeing of the team

·        To guarantee the capitalisation of the logistical field experience

 

 

MAIN ACTIVITIES

 

·        Conduct supply/ vendor assessment/ analysis and report in the area/ location of activity

·        Prepare and conduct rapid assessment in disaster affected area(s) in collaboration with medical coordinator

·        Plan & implement logistics technical activities in the emergency intervention

·        Report in regular basis to the Director of Yayasan Mahajana in the progress and constraints on the logistical operations.

·        Responsible for the proper application of HR policies and associated processes (recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, potential, detection, and internal communication)

·        Responsible for ensuring technical reference and support for all logistics-supply/technical issues in the mission, 

·        Responsible for ensuring installation and maintenance of functional office space(s) and lodging facilities in an adequate living condition as well as all the equipment required

·        Responsible for ensuring the proper use and maintenance of IT (computers, software, backups, etc.) and communication tools as well as the communication means

·        Responsible for defining and monitoring the technical aspects of the risk reduction policy, transport, communication, protection, identification and preparation of the technical aspects of the mission security policy and guidelines, evacuation plan and contingency plan, monitoring on a daily basis the security rules observation and reporting to the Director of Yayasan Mahajana of any problem. For this purpose, the Logistics Coordinator will have to create an appropriate environment to facilitate exchange of information on security situation

 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA  

 

Education

·       First university degree in “Logistic and Supply Chain Management”; other relevant professional trainings will be considered

·       Relevant experience in logistic and supply chain will be considered.

 

Experience

·        At least 5 years of experience with humanitarian organization/ institution, of which minimum 18-months emergency related experience (natural disaster, man-made disaster, outbreak, forced population displacement, etc)

·        Sound experience in security and risk management

 

 

 

 

Skills

·         Demonstrated knowledge in the main logistical families (Water Sanitation, Vector Control, Cold Chain, Telecommunication, Relief Distribution, Shelter, Air Ops, etc)

·         Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia are essential. Good knowledge of other languages in SEA region is an asset.

·         Having followed coordination & technical courses (Logistic Management Course/Basic Management Course/Water Engineering Course/Technical Logistic Course) will be considered a plus.

·         Familiarity with the Indonesian regulatory environment and customs procedures, particularly in the context of logistics for medical devises, medicines, and related items.

·         Awareness of the geographical challenges and infrastructure limitations in different regions in Indonesia.

·         Skills in optimizing logistics costs, considering the diverse and often complex terrain and transportation options in Indonesia

·         Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly logistics practices, as part of environmental responsibility commitment of Yayasan Mahajana

·         Ability to adapt and find innovative solutions to logistical challenges.

·         Good understanding of local culture and customs and the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with local authorities.

·         Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and remaining positive and motivated

·         High capacity of resilience and very good management of frustration

·         Solution oriented, problem-solving approach and openness to change.

 

 

CONDITIONS

 

  • Based in Jakarta, also may require some travel.
  • Salary: IDR 29,092,610 – 34,911,132 gross/month (depending on experience)
  • Commitment: 6 months – full time
