Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial (Yayasan Humanis) is an Indonesian organization affiliated with Hivos, born out of an active collaboration between Netherlands-based Hivos and several like-minded Indonesian academics and civil society leaders who subscribe to the values and mission of Hivos. The purpose is to promote humanist values in the social, health, and cultural fields which are defined in terms of the ability of each individual to assess and decide independently and responsibly, the right to freedom, dignity, and a passion to create a just and tolerant society.
Yayasan seeks qualified candidates for the position of:
Title : Consultant for Financial Management Capacity Building Training

Background
Voices for Climate Action (VCA) is a multi-country project initiated by an alliance of 6 organizations: WWF Netherlands, Hivos, SouthSouthNorth, Akina Mama wa Afrika, Shack Dwellers International, Fundacion Avina, which aims to amplify the voices for just climate action especially in relation to the following thematic outcomes areas: First, Local civil society and marginal groups' capacity and collective action are strengthened for inclusive policy dialogue and leadership for climate solutions. Second, a Powerful narrative and shared platform established to effectively amplify the voice of local and national level civil society for just transition Third, Locally-shaped climate solutions (including local food systems, decentralized renewable energy, new financial schemes, technology innovation, and access, local knowledge and wisdom, governance of natural resources) are documented, formally recognized and adopted. To implement the VCA project in Indonesia, at the national and provincial scope of NTT, Yayasan Humanis collaborates with 18 organizations consisting of four coalitions: The Civilian Coalition, the Coffee Coalition, the Good Food Coalition, and the Adaptation Coalition.
During the project implementation, the finance staff of Yayasan Humanis’ partner organizations plays a crucial role in ensuring that the incurred project expenditures are accountable, eligible, verifiable, and comply to the donor regulations and local statutory. Often, the finance staff have difficulties understanding the general/specific terms and conditions of Yayasan Humanis and donors which in the end will affect the financial reporting. Furthermore, some implementing partners lack systems of financial planning and monitoring, which has a very adverse impact on their viability.
Yayasan Humanis believes that capacity building and knowledge sharing are crucial factors in working together with its implementing partners. Based on the above needs, Yayasan Humanis, supported by VCA, is recruiting an individual consultant/organization to facilitate training on Financial Management and develop guidelines as a reference for partners in their implementations . This training will be held in a hybrid setting for 3 (three) days from Bali with modules that will be developed and facilitated by the consultant.
Objectives
The main goal of this training is to enable the participants to have a more comprehensive understanding and to be able to carry out sound financial management during the project implementation.
Specific objectives of this training are:
1. Understanding budget, contract, general/specific terms and conditions of Yayasan Humanis and donors.
2. Understanding the importance of financial reporting and the proper documentation for eligible and verifiable financial transactions (filing, journal voucher, budget vs expenditures).
3. Capable of practicing transparent and accountable financial management (human resources charging, tax, social securities) including how to book and report to donors.
4. Capable of carrying out self-audit and preparing for project verification by the external auditor.
Scope of work
The consultant is expected to:
1. Develop the syllabus of the 3-days training, describes concept and topics as the translation of the objectives. Once it is approved, translate it into the document as the guideline.
2. Facilitate the 3-days hybrid Financial training for partners in Bali.
3. Develop the pre- and post-test to measure the capacity changes of the training participants including tools for the participants to conduct financial self-health check of their respective organization.
4. Develop a training report that covers the process and the analysis of the knowledge changes of the participants.
5. Develop a guideline on Financial Management.
Qualifications and Experiences:
The consultant can be a civil society organization, consultancy service and or a team of specialists that meet the following the selection criteria:
- Proven organization/individual with expertise on transparency and accountability in financial and sub-grant management.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in providing trainings on inclusive developing financial budget proposal, financial management, good governance, business development training and fundraising for the non-government organizations. Preferably, trainings for NGO working in climate justice’s issues.
- Familiarity with human rights issues, gender equality, women’s issues, and working with minority group.
- Familiarity with donor requirements/standard operating procedure of the European Union (EU), USAID, NORAD and MoFA NL will be an advantage.
- Has the ability to facilitate capacity building at different level.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills (English and Bahasa).
Budget
The maximum budget for this assignment is in lumpsum IDR 70,000,000,- (gross). The hybrid training will take place from Bali. The budget includes any expenses occurred from the travel for the assignment purpose, including transportation cost and logistic expenses. Yayasan Humanis will provide accommodation and meeting package during the training.
