Governance issues remain untapped. Enhanced women’s political leadership and

About
the Role
As our change lead on Gender
and Governance in the Asia region, you’ll help shape and formulate the strategy
for supporting programmes that address governance and gender with a particular
focus on enhancing women’s political leadership across 11 countries in the
region. Your specialist knowledge and skills will be in demand with senior
country management, programme managers and partners to help deliver innovative
approaches, learning and a monitoring and evaluation process that measures
achievement at every level. So you will need to ensure you keep up-to-date with
new thinking in areas of ‘Gendered Governance’ such as budget accountability,
social accountability, power analysis, decentralisation and participatory
planning for example. More than this you’ll be expected to play an active role
in advocacy on gender and governance issues, support fundraising efforts and
develop the networks externally, as well as with other Oxfam affiliates, that
will boost our capacity to include gender and governance in all aspects of our
work.
What
we’re looking for
To make this challenging
role a success, you’ll be committed to women’s rights with a strong background
in gender equality, governance and social accountability – especially in
programme-based advocacy work in developing countries. Previous experience of
working with civil society groups, mass organisations or movements is
essential, as is a track-record in engaging with Governments. A strong
communicator and proven mentor, you’ll be adept at facilitating and leading
teams, introducing innovations, building capacity and turning your knowledge
into practice.
