VACANCY WITH HUTAN HARAPAN RAINFOREST – IT OFFICER

A consortium of Burung Indonesia,
the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) ad BirdLife International
has established Hutan Harapan to protect and restore 100.000ha of dryland
lowland forest and its ecosystems in South Sumatera and Jambi provinces, under
the first ever ecosystem restoration license issued by the Government of
Indonesia.

With support form several donors,
including the Governments of Germany and Denmark, Hutan Harapan will make a
significant contribution to the global debate on ecosystem restoration,
biodiversity conservation, combating deforestation and tackling climate change.

Hutan Harapan is offering a
unique opportunity to join and shape this groundbreaking innitiative. We are
building a team of exceptional individuals at all levels and have immediate
vacancy for the following position:
Position:              IT
Officer
Duty Station:     Camp-site
Hutan Harapan Rainforest, Jambi Province

General Description of the Position:
The IT Officer is responsible for
the oversight of the IT needs, including system installations, maintenance,
support and technical consultations to end-users. S/He is responsible for
ensuring that standards set by the Hutan Harapan Rainforest are followed and
that the most efficient and effective IT solutions are applied.
Responsibilities of the IT
Officer also include maintaining the LANs and WANs. S/He must also ensure that
proper back-up, antivirus and disaster recovery procedure are implemented and
that end-users have access to shared files, wireless access, printers and
e-mails.
The IT Officer will coordinate
and report to the Head of Administration and Operations Department for daily
operations and for the compliance of Hutan Harapan Rainforest IT guidelines,
regulations and technical matters.

Essential Responsibilities:
-          Maintain network infrastructure including ISP,
router, WAP, ethernet switches/hubs, printers, etc.
-          Maintain LAN/WAN connectivity (internet
connection and services, device configuration and maintenance).
-          Perform IT support.
-          Ensure Windows and other software is maintained
and that patches are promptly applied.
-          Ensure antivirus software is installed and both
the engine and signature files are kept current.
-          Ensure information is backed up and maintained
in accordance with Hutan Harapan Rainforest Policies and Procedures.
-          Ensure that only licensed software is installed
on each of end-user’s computer.
-          Provide user support on hardware, networking and
software related issues.
-          Configure and troubleshoot
laptops/desktops/printers/other shared devices problems.
-          Evaluate IT products/services whenever required.
-          Maintain and update Hutan Harapan Rainforest
website in cooperation with other Departments.
-          Ensure compliance with Hutan Harapan Rainforest
Information Security policies, procedures and standards.

Requirements:
-          A degree in Computer Science/Computer
Engineering/Information Technology.
-          Minimum of 5 (five) years experience
installing/supporting/maintaining a wide range of IT infrastructure systems
(Windows Servers, Windows PCs, Backups, Printers, Scanners, etc) in different
locations.
-          Experienced computer network monitoringa nd
troubleshooting.
-          Good work ethics and strong desire to complete
tasks in a timely manner as directed.
-          Excellent written and oral communication skills.
-          Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both
written and oral.
-          A high level of self-motivation and ability to
work autonomously within a fast-paced environment. Work well independently and
in a multicultureal team environment.
-          Excellent interpersonal and organization skills
and ability to make independent decisions.
