The Director will oversee all aspects of Financial Management and support services of the Regional Office to RTI business and project activities in the region including financial accounting compliance, internal controls, establishment and monitoring of policies, procedures and systems. This position will be responsible for the following:
Direct and manage, within the region, all project financial accounting, compliance and internal controls. Drive a strong controllership mindset by providing appropriate financial support in the attainment of operating goals and objectives.
Provide, training, direction and support to all Finance Managers and Senior Project Management in the region to establish and implement appropriate finance procedures based on RTI and client policy and procedures.
Responsible for financial compliance monitoring with established RTI policies and procedures and local statutory requirements. Create and monitor compliance with US generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP), the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Australian Commonwealth Financial, Grants and Procurement policies.
Ensure that the project offices within the region are able to consistently meet the deadlines established to complete the RTI Global Monthly Closing.
Manage the monthly balance sheet account reconciliation process consistent with established RTI procedures and deadlines.
Ensure that any internal or external audit activities within the region are properly communicated to and coordinated with RTI home office business unit and corporate staff.
Lead the recruiting, training and development of the finance staff in the region.
Coordinate with and support Corporate Controller in administering uniform accounting systems for cost accounting, general accounting, and budgetary purposes.
Administer design and implementation of financial information systems; seek ways to improve financial reporting and controls. Develop, plan, and recommend practices and procedures for proper financial control.
Oversee compliance of accounting procedures, maintenance of monthly, quarterly and year-end closing schedules and the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting packages.
Support the analytical framework and financial metrics to enable informed, astute business decisions, which identify trends early to capitalize on opportunities and minimize risks.
Establish and maintain strong external relationships on behalf of the Company, including external auditors.
Ensure proper accounting, remittance, recovery and filings of VAT & income taxes.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management or related discipline;
10-15 years Financial Management or advanced Accounting Management experience or equivalent years of combined education and experience in related field;
5 years of international experience to include supporting overseas financial management activities;
Prior experience working in Indonesia or Asia region;
Excellent knowledge of financial management and reporting systems;
Prior experience working on USAID or AUSAID-funded programs in a senior-level financial management capacity strongly preferred;
Strong management, leadership and customer relations skills essential;
Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and business partner skills- ability to facilitate team work a must;
Internationally savvy and culturally astute;
Ability to travel international approximately 25% within Africa and the Middle East;
Fluency in Bahasa Indonesian and English languages.
