Summary – Maluku Agro Financing (MagFin) Program
Despite the positive International
market growth, Spice sector has not had much impact on alleviating Maluku’s
poverty. The greatest margin in the
spice sector occurs with value added processing and is currently carried out by
other market actors – primarily the traders.
In
a 15 months project, Organization proposes to pilot solutions geared towards
addressing all actors in the value chain (farmers, exporters and traders),
Maluku Agro Financing Program (MagFin) will pilot a market based solution to
enable farmers through their farmer groups to access financial support, and
enable them to procure appropriate post-harvest processing tools, in particular
drying facilities. MagFin objective is to develop a lasting systemic change,
which ensures 1500 farmers in Maluku will increase their income from the
post-harvest activities.
1. Program Officer – MagFin Program
The Program
officer will be responsible for carrying out the tasks needed for the
implementation for the project under the guidance of the Program
Coordinator. Duties will include
carrying out assessments and survey, private sectors mobilization and
engagement, providing guidance in business start-up and trouble shooting, and
ensuring transparent information regarding the community, including timely
reporting on issues that may impact the project. S/he will be MagFin’s coordinator right hand,
and an indispensable component of the project’s success, so willingness to learn, motivation,
innovation, flexibility and commitment to the community and the project is a
must. S/he will be responsible for
updating his/her weekly and monthly work plans and carry his/her work with a
sense of urgency.
Qualifications:
* University degree in economic or related fields;
* 3-4+ years of field-based community development experience, preferably with a focus on economic development and poverty reduction;
* Experience in farmer mobilization, conducting economic research, assessments and surveys;
* Experience in providing trainings to farmers in good agriculture and post harvest practices;
* Experience with wide range of partners including government and private sector preferred;
* Moderate English. Native level of Bahasa Indonesia and local languages in Maluku are a must;
2. Admin and Monitoring Officer –
MagFin Program
Responsible
for working with MagFin Program Coordinator to develop an Monitoring plan,
relevant indicators and tools for measurement, , assist with the analysis of
data and discuss with Program Coord and Field Officers how to use the results
in implementation. The Administration and Monitoring Officer will also work
with Project Coordinator of MagFin in administration management that will
include procurement process
Qualifications:
* Possess a relevant university degree or college diploma and relevant 2-3 years work experience;
* Experience working in monitoring and evaluation, ideally in an NGO context;
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken, highly desired;
