Islamic Relief programme in Indonesia was established in 2003 with one
project office catering for development activities in Banten province. In
2004 IR expanded its coverage to include Aceh province targeting victims of
the earthquake and the giant tsunami waves in the devastated Aceh province
then in October 2009, IR expanded its coverage to include West Sumatra
province also targeting victims of the earthquake and implementation of
emergency disaster relief.
The main sectors for Indonesia Program are Health, Disaster Preparedness,
Education, Shelter, Livelihoods and Orphans Support. The geographical areas
of operation are Aceh, West Sumatera, and West Nusa Tenggara provinces.
In achieving this purpose, Islamic Relief Indonesia provides opportunities
to those having the expertise and dedication in supporting the program with
the following position:
Position : Liaison Officer
Base : Lombok, NTB
Employment Period : ASAP until October 2013
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Act as the focal point for Islamic Relief Indonesia in West Nusa
Tenggara.
2. Provide secretarial services including the organization of meetings,
correspondence, providing updates to stakeholders, writing of reports.
3. Assist in setting up concrete of innovating ideas and preparation of
proposal.
4. Coordinate and liaise with local and national stakeholders and play a
role in linking up the different levels:national, provincial, district, sub
district and village level through consultation and other means to achieve
strategic partnerships.
5. Build and maintain a knowledge and understanding of the IRI Program
to address queries by related parties.
6. Assist in the design and production of communication materials and
other items needed for communication, promotion and coordination.
7. Facilitate and escort field visits of IRW staffs to NTB and to local
and national stakeholders.
8. Provide Administrative and Logistical roles where needed.
9. Any other tasks will be given by the Line Manager.
10. The employee may be asked to perform duties and task not covered in
this job description as well as to provide support to other department when
necessary
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
. Diploma in Administration / Social Science / Management or
relevant studies
. Familiar with West Nusa Tenggara context
. Good communication and interpersonal skills
. Good leadership, supervisory & management skills.
. Excellent knowledge of computer operation (Windows, Excel, Power
Point)
. At least one year experience in Administration and Logistic with
Procurement exposure.
. At least one year experience in liaison tasks.
. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia, ability to communicate in English and
knowledge of Local Language preferred.
. Experience in report writing.
. Strong interest in development work with respect for
confidentiality and commitment to Islamic Relief overall aims and
objectives, including gender, equality and equal opportunities in all
aspects of Islamic Relief's work.
