Tambuhak Sinta is a Kalimantan-based foundation that is striving to improve the
quality of governance and well-being in areas affected by mineral development
activities. The main focus is on participatory community development through
capacity-building and economic livelihood support.
YTS
is looking for an experienced Field Project Coordinator to supervise and manage
its four subdistrict field teams that are working in the upper Kahayan watershed
in Gunung Mas District and in Palangka Raya municipality. YTS’s programming is
based on a participatory approach and methodology, and candidates are expected
to have hands-on experience with this approach and
philosophy.
YTS
programs are dynamic and multi-faceted, and candidates must be capable of
dealing with variety and the unexpected demands that arise from constantly
evolving circumstances.
These
are the main requirements for this position:

At
least 10 years field-based experience with participatory development
programs
·
Excellent
research, analytical and writing skills
·
Very
strong personnel management and team-building skills
·
Knowledge
and understanding of government planning procedures at Kabupaten level
·
Ability
to work with a wide variety of individuals and organisations – villagers,
government officials, donor agencies, civil society organisations, and resource
companies
·
Excellent
interpersonal and social communication skills
·
Must
be fully fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, English and preferably local Dayak
·
A
university degree in a relevant discipline
·
Willing
and able to travel and work in remote areas
·
Good
computer skills – MS Office, internet
Knowledge
and experience with the mineral resources sector and previous experience in
Central Kalimantan would be useful assets.
