Calling CONSULTANT for
DIGITAL MEDIA, CAMPAIGN AND COMMUNICATIONS

Background

Currently, Oxfam and allies run several seafood value chain influencing
programs at and across national levels in Asia, including Indonesia. This
program requires high level engagement of food companies to influence them
to correct injustices in their supply chains. The goal itself is to
motivate consumers to care for the food that they had consume, not only
from the side of food safety, but also the social aspects within it. Oxfam
will collaborate with governments, private sector, civil society and the
community on existing good practices, learning and building communication
with consumers, building and demonstrating good practice and
recommendations to improve sustainable seafood governance.

In term of private sector we would like to influence supermarkets that are
selling seafood or other relevant platforms that are connected with seafood
value chain. However our project partners do not have the necessary
expertise on digital campaign that focus on public (consumers) engagement
to involve the initiative of sustainable seafood value chain actively.
Dealing with this situation, we would like to find a consultant on digital
media, campaign and communication who responsible for creating and crafting
compelling digital content, with a particular focus on social media and
video, which engages audiences in interactive and meaningful way around
issues related to food value chain.

Responsibility of the consultant(s)

Through the use digital strategies, enable Indonesia domestic UP campaigns
and the Indonesia contribution to the UP campaign worldwide in protection
of workers and small scale food producers
Build the capacity and resources of the Economic Justice (EJ) team to use
digital strategies for engaging campaign supporters, including converting
passive supporters into activists and individual donors to Oxfam
Consult with experts and supports the development of a strong digital
media, communication and campaign strategy, policy, and message

Assist Up Campaign teams in Indonesia (Oxfam and partners, including Kiara,
KPI, YLKI and others) and elsewhere in organizing social media campaign
actions and logistics, including publishing and editing online content
Collaborate with the Indonesia EJ advocacy and campaign officer in
publishing research, briefing papers and other products online
Develop and manage strategic relationships with media contacts, especially
amongst editors, columnists, senior reporters, producers and ensure that
online materials and messages support gender justice
Write, prepare reactive media lines as needed and coordinate writers,
online content producers, web designers if necessary
Draft campaign emails, collect and edit digital content, maintain ongoing
interaction with supporters online and other internal communications
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of digital strategies, and sharing
learning, and help create an environment for innovation

Competencies, Experience and Skill requirements
This is a challenging role that requires hard work, flexibility, good
judgment, initiative and an ability to deliver results. The core
competencies which any successful candidate will display are:

At least 3 years experience in the use of digital tools in campaigns and
communication, proven track record and savviest in the use of digital
technologies
Strong strategic thinking and campaign planning skills; creativity for
campaign tactics and strategies
Passion and commitment to social justice, citizen empowerment and social
change. Enthusiasm for a wide range of development, humanitarian and
gender justice issues, and a readiness to move swiftly between them
while being able to rapidly focus in on the details of each
Understanding of how civic advocacy and public campaigning function
Professionalism, efficiency and results oriented delivery on short
timelines
Strong teamwork skills, comfortable in a highly collaborative team
culture and a hierarchical team structure
Excellent written and oral English communication skills
Strong inter-personal skills
