1. Background
Hivos Southeast Asia is an International
non-governmental organization guided by humanist values. It aims at structural
poverty alleviation with a strong focus on civil society building, human rights
and sustainable economic development. Hivos Southeast Asia provides financial
support for local NGOs, is active in networking, lobbying and exchanging
knowledge and expertise.
Under its media engagement initiatives, Hivos aims
at providing journalists, influencers as well as bloggers capacity building on
how to contribute in promoting social inclusion. In doing so, we seek
expressions of interests of media/journalists associations or CSOs that have
relevant experiences in providing capacity building for media people to assist
us in the implementation of these initiatives.
2. Scope of Work
The applicant
is expected to deliver below tasks:
1.
Providing capacity building for journalists/influencers/bloggers
through training on covering news on social inclusion.
2.
Providing capacity building for some numbers of minority community
representatives on how to be able to engage with media people.
3.
Organize a safe space for dialogues between media people with the
minority groups in the issues of social inclusion.
3. Deliverables
The selected organization is expected
to deliver the following:
1. Train at least 20 journalists/influencers/bloggers
on how to contribute in promoting social inclusion.
2. Train 20 community members that belong to
minority groups on how to engage with media in the issues of social inclusion.
3. Organize 2 times of dialogues between
trained media people with the representatives of the minority community.
4. Timeline
The assignment will start on November
2018 to February 2019.
5. Knowledge, experiences and competencies
We are seeking an Indonesian person
with the following qualities:

Have
relevant experiences in providing capacity building for media people

Demonstrate
good knowledge and understanding on media engagement, communication strategy,
tools, and communication techniques both conventional and digital

Have
relevant experiences in managing media/social media event.

Network
of contacts in media, social media, civic tech, civil society.
