Save the Children
in Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build a
national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and
self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC
Indonesia has been designated as a “Prospect Member”. As
‘Prospect
Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new
member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our
voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Indonesia has
been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising
locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable
local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong
local governance structure and building key partnerships with local
government, the private sector, local civil society
among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a
pathway to full membership. We are currently seeking to fill the
following position:
DRR MEAL SPECIALIST (GOOGLE PROJECT)
1 (One)
positions based in Bandung
ROLE PURPOSE:
The
DRR MEAL Specialist under the Supervision of DRR Manager will ensure
project Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEAL) plans
are developed and MEAL activities completed as per project
requirements. MEAL Specialist coordinates with National MEAL manager to
ensure MEAL system align with country strategy plan (CSP) and MEAL
standard. S/he will also support the implementation team with
mechanisms to monitor activities and report against indicators and
ensure MEAL activities are closely coordinated with key stakeholders
The project aims to improve national and local disaster preparedness by: supporting increased
national awareness and planning on preparedness, ensuring primary
school children in specific high risk provinces are safer and better
prepared for disasters and encouraging children and youth participation
in government planning
to increase public investment and reduce the risks faced by children.
The
post holder shares the accountability to build the most positive and
affirming work environment possible and ensure that the management,
staffing and culture
of the organization are suitably aligned with the mission, evolving
goals and strategic ambitions aligned with the Membership Accountability
Framework.
The
post holder will also be responsible and accountable to lead or
contribute to the standards as noted in the Prospect Member Framework as
follows:
- Contribute to developing high quality programs which are evidence based

Responsible/Support
on-going development and emergency programming of the existing
portfolio in Indonesia in order to achieve ambitious breakthroughs for
children,
·
Ensuring continued development & management of a high performing MEAL system of Signature
Program.
·
Contribute
to effective advocacy for children and collaborate with other
departments to implement advocacy initiatives that support the theory of
change.
·
Contribute to ensuring active participation and role in the
movement

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor University Degree in a Disaster Risk Management or Environmental Sciences or Social Development or equivalent in a relevant field.

At least 4 years work experience with non-government organizations, with some experience in managing Monitoring and Evaluation
·
At least of 3 years’ Disaster Risk Reduction experiences, safe school and Child Protection
·
Good qualitative analytical skills, including experience using analytical software packages such as SPSS, NVivo etc
·
Excellent written and verbal presentation communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
·
Ability
to work fast, effectively and independently in often high pressure
environments, working across a number of teams to deliver high
communications output.
·
Knowledge of project cycle management as well as skills in methods of Monitoring and Evaluation systems.
·
Strong analytical and writing skills.
·
Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks
·
Excellent
interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead project team work
as well as to develop and maintain strong relationships project staffs
and beneficiaries
·
Computer
literacy skills in particularly related to Monitoring and Evaluation
tools, knowledge in other database program would be an advantage
·
Experience in working in multicultural environment
