Under the leadership of the Agriculture
Coordinator, the Agriculture recovery engineer will be responsible for ensuring
quality construction for water access facilities including design development,
rehabilitation/reconstruction water access facilities and conduct quality
control and advice on proper maintenance of the water access structure. S/he
will contribute to the development of a sectorial strategy based on a strong
contextual understanding of the region and in line with Mercy Corps values, and
in alignment with Mercy Corps’ vision of resilient communities, Design viable
strategies that are both respectful with the local culture and sensitive
towards the population; oversee and coordinate the implementation of field
assessments and surveys including; need assessment and baseline surveys; develop
monthly work plan and targets and provide monthly progress against the target
and work plan.
Qualifications
:
- 4 years of experience working in water, access construction included shallow well, borehole, and gravity system;
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or another related field;
- Willingness to work in remote rural settings in Central Sulawesi Island;
- Cultural sensitive and able to work effectively with a wide range of people at the community level;
- Independent and have strong organizational skills; demonstrated experience working with a multi-disciplinary team and able to follow procedures and meet deadlines;
- Two years of experience working in Microsoft Office applications and Auto Cad is required;
- Candidate must be willing to travel regularly and works on weekends or evening as necessary (considering the urgency and the nature of working with communities);
- Good written and spoken English is a plus;
