Job Vacancy Coordinator in Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building

 

Background

Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) is an Indonesia think tank on energy and environment, based in Jakarta. IESR aims to accelerate low carbon energy transition in Indonesia and address its impacts to Indonesia economy and society. IESR produces data and science-based analysis for policy makers, stakeholders and public.

IESR is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to perform analysis of energy efficiency in Indonesia, in particular energy efficiency in building. The selected person will be responsible to collect data, perform technical and policy research and analysis, writing up report, engage with stakeholders, and should be able to communicate effectively in all level.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

·       Initiate preliminary assessment works of the policy landscape in the field of energy efficiency and sustainable building Indonesia

·       Develop energy efficiency program together with IESR team and align it with the organization’s main objectives of accelerating low carbon energy transition

·       Establish communication and maintain engagement with key policymakers related to the energy efficiency and sustainable building

·       Design activities to promote and increase awareness in EE and sustainable building

·       Conduct activities under the policy hub of IESR with GBPN and potentially other institutions

·       Identify linkages between IESR program, policymaker key priorities, and other institutions program that could amplify the current works

·       Carry out policy and regulatory analysis of energy efficiency in building/green building

·       Undertake comprehensive analysis and systematization of the main policy issues associated with energy efficiency in buildings in cities of different climatic zones, including addressing building codes, standards and labelling

·       Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

·       Minimum of Master degree in relevant disciplines such as physics engineering, building/architectural engineering, civil engineering from reputable university.

·       Good knowledge in energy efficiency issues and net-zero building

·       Minimum 3 years’ experience in implementing energy efficiency related program or activities

·       Relevant past experience working with policymaker, campaign and/or communication are an advantage

·       Knowledge and practice with ISO 50001 and other accreditations such as LEED AP, ASHRAE Certification, Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) will be highly valued.

·       Attention to detail and exception written and communication skill.

·       Professional English level both written and oral.

·       Excellent with MS Office system or similar software.

·       Excellent interpersonal and social skill

 

Duration

Two years contract and can be extended, with 3 months’ probation. Expected starting in February 2022

 

Salary: IESR’s rate, depends on qualifications

Starting date: Jun 2022
