Vacancy Announcement "Senior Program Officer"

The Wildlife Conservation-Indonesia Program (WCS-IP) has developed significantly over the last few decades, and contributes to supporting the Government of Indonesia, particularly the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) in conserving Indonesia's biodiversity. WCS-IP currently has a program focused on landscape conservation, species conservation actions and local community engagement.

The WCS Indonesia Program (WCS-IP) is structured based on five thematic programs: Forest, Marine; Wildlife Trade & Policy; OneHealth; Sustainable Landscape and Infrastructure (SLI) and Right & Communities. Through the SLI program, WCS works to support increased coffee productivity through Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) on land outside the Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (TNBBS) area. This is expected to suppress changes in land cover which is the main threat to the sustainability and sustainability of the TNBBS area.

To achieve our overall goal in carrying out its activities, WCS-IP is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Program Officer for Sustainable Landscape and Infrastructure Programs. The Program Officer's role is to assist the smooth running of the WCS Indonesia IDD Program, and is also responsible for supporting the development and ensuring the successful implementation and sustainability of any work related to the WCS IDD program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain a database of IDD programs from each landscape
  • Under the coordination of the Senior Program Coordinator helps compile, consolidate, review, and analyze data reported by each landscape
  • Provide technical support for development, programming, analysis to prepare program reports as directed by the Senior Program Coordinator and Program Manager
  • Responsible for recording the substance of each activity or ongoing activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of activity reports by providing datasets and data analysis needed by donors and/or stakeholders, in Indonesian or English, written or oral, as well as submitting periodic reports to the Senior Program Coordinator and Program Manager at the Bogor office.

GENERAL ROLE:

  • Implement and promote the WCS-IP values of respect, transparency and accountability, innovation, inclusivity and diversity, collaboration and integrity in daily work.
  • Participate wholeheartedly in general WCS-IP activities especially events and activities that require the full support and participation of all staff members, whether the focus of each particular event or activity has to do with job descriptions and defined project objectives and activities.
  • Have a high work ethic and can work in a team.

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational background

  • Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Sciences or other bachelor's degree with experience in handling projects.

Work experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in projects working for NGOs, or community relations organizations.
  • Have the ability to develop databases to support reporting
  • Good interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with stakeholders (including local and community stakeholders).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Indonesian and English.
  • Fluent in using Microsoft and data management tools, both online and offline
