WRI Indonesia is affiliated with World Resources Institute (WRI), a global
environmental research organization that works with various stakeholders to
support policies and practices that are sustainable and profitable. WRI works
with leaders in more than 50 countries for more than 30 years, with offices in
Brazil, China, Europe, Africa, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and the United States.
Launched in early 2014, WRI
Indonesia builds on WRI’s 20-year history in the country and the official
establishment of WRI Indonesia office has strengthened our impacts on the
ground in recent years. Our current work primarily focuses on forest and
land-use. Over time WRI Indonesia aims to expand its portfolio to include
climate, energy, and city and transportation. Therefore, it is important for
the organization to identify and put in place the research building blocks for
achieving the vision of WRI Indonesia supporting science- and data-driven
decision making at national and sub-national level.
Job Summary
As our Project Coordinator you will report to the Sr Project
Lead and play a crucial role in the successful financial management of a project called: Sustainable
Management Peatland and Haze Mitigation in Southeast Asia (SUPA). In this
project, WRI Indonesia seeks to improve management of peatland in priority jurisdictions
to reduce GHG emission from peat degradation and fires while promoting
equitable land use practices to enhance local livelihoods; the initiative will
also be strengthen by promoting the sustainable management of peatlands in the
ASEAN region through collective actions and to enhance cooperation to support
and sustain local livelihoods, reduce the risk of fire and associated haze and
contribute to global environmental management.
You will provide financial management and administrative
support to the team. You will be supporting with budget development &
monitoring and management of important contracts and subgrants with a wide
range of partners spanning multiple regions, countries and institutions. You
will also assist with financial donor reporting and the coordination of
financial flows throughout our network of offices and partners.
The successful candidate for this position will have
excellent financial analytics capabilities and attention to detail, can do
attitude and strong interpersonal skills, as well as ability to work in
diplomatic and collaborative manner with multiple stakeholders
Job Responsibilities
Below is the breakdown of the
responsibilities of the Project Coordinator II:
Financial Planning &
Administration (40%)

Prepare
annual overall budgets as well as annual funder-specific budgets
·
Monitor
and manage project budget performance, scoping progress according to planned
milestones, expenses and revenue, planned budget vs actual spending and
internal and donor reporting
·
Review and
track monthly expenses and staff labor hours
·
Prepare
monthly, quarterly and annual financial reviews
·
Assist
with time sheet management
·
Assist
with expense reports, invoicing, cash advances and other transactions
·
Comply
with all internal WRI budgeting processes and contract process deadlines
Contracts and Subgrants Management
(30%)
·
Draft and
revise contracts and subgrants with multiple partners
·
Manage
contract deadlines, approvals and reporting
·
Monitor
and ensure partners compliance with contracting and sub agreement guidelines
and deadlines
·
Cross
reference contracts with vendor payments and other transactions to ensure
compliance with terms of agreements
Financial Management &
Compliance (30%)
·
Supports
donor and grants management by providing financial and administrative support
to the project team
·
Support
completion of institutional and donor reporting (narrative, quantitative and
financial) for grants, projects and outcomes
·
Support
monitoring project deliverables and preparing standard project and financial
status reports
·
Keeps
track of past performance and lessons learned information to use on future
project preparation
·
Problem
solve and generate solutions to systematic issues, and effective ways to
complete tasks as needed
·
Supports
the drafting of grant proposal and related budgets
·
Provide
logistic support to workshops and events organized by the team
Job
Qualifications
·
A minimum of 5 years of full-time
Professional experience in financial management and administration preferably
in a non-profit setting (development organizations/NGOs - both international
and/or domestic)
·
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Masters’ degree preferred.
·
Proven experience in managing
budgets of $3,000,000 and above.
·
Ability to work effectively in a
fast-paced office environment and cross sectoral themes, both independently and
as part of a global team across time zones.
·
Adaptable to rapidly changing
priorities and able to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high quality work
products
·
Highly motivated, strong can-do
attitude, proactive work style and excellent organizational skills and
work-ethic.
·
Detail-oriented and organized
thinker who can juggle multiple, competing priorities
·
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills;
Office 365 experience a plus
Contract
Arrangement
Successful
candidate will be appointed on 3 (three) months of probation period under
consultancy contract. Upon successful completion of probationary period based
on performance review by WRI Indonesia, he/she will be appointed as a Full-Time
employee for 1 (one) year period.
Must
have authorization to work in Indonesia to be eligible for this position.
Final
candidates might be required to take a writing test and to produce two writing
samples when needed.
Remuneration:
Remuneration is commensurate
with experience and skills. WRI offers a competitive and comprehensive
